  1. Okay... Trying to figure out how to program a Techno Router with MFSW. I have all the control, machine def, and post files for Mcam X9 but would like the option to program straight from MFSW. I've tried changing the 3 file extensions from .RMD to .MMD, etc. - but doesn't seem to work. What am I missing? Can it be done? Suggestions...?
  2. Trying to create a toolpath of geometry - closed rectangle using HS trocohidial cuts to cut out parts rather than slotting Tpath. Can't get Peel to work as it needs to come in from outside the part and won't support closed geometry..? I'd also like to incorporate tabs into the process... Any ideas / suggestions? What am I missing?
  3. Very familiar with creating tabs with wireframe but transitioning to solid modeling with students. In selecting contour tool paths using solid faces, I've been unable to create tabs. Tried square point without success..? I'm missing something ... would prefer to use solid face for toolpath selection. Ideas, suggestions? Will I need to create edge curves..?
  4. X7 Has anyone found a way to turn off geometry display in verify / mcam simulator? For engraving tpaths, it often will hide areas machining has missed (parts of text on letters when tool won't fit into the geometry). With the geometry showing, areas missed by tool path are often overlooked when checked with verify...
  5. X7 installed and running fine... With multiple tool paths in Op window, all selected and Post processed... Issue is tool paths are separated into separate tabs in the editor and need to be saved as individual files rather than one complete file with tool changes. It seems to happen most often with engraving tpaths involved. Is this as a result of the control file, machine def, or is there a setting adjustment in settings / config somewhere. Making it difficult for students bringing project files to machine, taking extra time, etc. How do I overcome this? This is new as of X7 Techno RG Router 5996
  6. I did thanks and tested after re-freezing. Things seem to be fine for this Year's Projects and classes. Thanks for your input. - cheers
  7. Thanks all for the help... I finally got things working. Here's how I did it: (This was after migrating necessary files on teacher computer) *We use Deep Freeze for computer security 1. Copied from working teacher computer \\hssvr\Staff\xxxx.xxxx\my mcamx5 folder This is saved to a place students will have access to on the network. Before they open X5, they save the folder to their network drive. (I found when a student opens X5, a folder my mcamx5 is placed on their network drive. The one they will copy and place there has the config, tool info, etc I want for them.) Once they do that, they're all set for future work. 2. I copied the folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\shared mcamx5 from my computer and placed it on all student computers (same location). The real test is the first day of school - but so far with a few student logins it is working. ***The Chips are flying again..!***
  8. Sorry for the delay... (It was time to take a brake...) This is for Win XP Thanks. Need config etc to work for student logins on network.
  9. Question - I have X5mu1 installed on one of my 16 computers at school. Working great, all configs set the way I want / need. I don't have the option of doing an image on the student machines. What files on the working computer can I copy over to the other student computers to make my install process faster. Do I need to do update files on all computers? I hope you can help me out with this one. (I'd like to be sailing rather than configuring computers...)

    Ramp Tabs

X4 MU2 In programming ramp tabs, I've had an issue with a tool movement causing an extra deep cut (-.5) inches. This has happened only on occasion and only on one or two parts out of a sheet of parts. The parts were not nested (placed manually) into a sheet. All the tabs were created from the same contour toolpath with the same tab parameters..? Happens only on a few tabs. In checking the verify and backplot, it doesn't show up. It doesn't show up in the Techno control software preview used. Doesn't show in the nc file (at least I cant find it). When we run the program above the stock it creates an odd arc move in the -Z direction, comes up and continues the program. It takes place just as it is ramping down at the back side of the tab. -Anyone had this issue or have a guess? Straight plunge tabs are fine.
  11. Has anyone found a post for a Gerber Sabre 408 router? I have an X4 file I need to post and run on a Sabre408 router. Any info will be helpful.
  12. I just updated X4, and I'm having a problem with the verify. All stock and tool is Black (wouldn't show up with black background so I changed the background!) I thought maybe the acceleration settings - no. Checked the collor settings in Config - no. Checked color settings in verify settings - no..? Any ideas? Anyone else with this issue? Should I go back to X4 with out update?
