  1. Pete, Fist off, thank you and everyone else who has been helping out. I figured out what the problem was with some of the arcs. I had been using project cutting edges on from compound curves inside Inventor to create some of my geometry. This was creating "arcs" that were created out of several (thousands) small pieces. I went back into my model and replaced the "arcs" with actual arcs and the geometry opened in Mastercam. I have one more question. When I open the Invnetor dwg in Mastercam the line geometry comes in scaled based on the dwg scale. Is there any way to have the line geometry come in at full scale? When we used AutoCAD to make our drawings we drew everything at full scale and then scaled the sheets to plot. It seams like Inventor is scaling the geometry to the sheet size. Regards,
  2. Right now the machine that is running Mastercam also has Inventor R11 installed. I have drawn all of the ipt files using 2009. When I try to open a 2009 ipt in Mastercam it says it cannot open it becasue the file is newer than R11. If I install Inventor 2009 on the Mastercam machine will Mastercam be able to open the file then? I am afraid to install 2009 if Mastercam can only open R11. Regards, Nathan
  3. Pete, Thanks for the quick reply. I tried what you suggested and I get most of the drawing but some of the arcs are not showing up. Do you know why this might be happening? Regards,
  4. Hello to everyone. I just joined the forum. I am having dificulties getting Mastercam to open my files. In the past we have drawn our geometry in AutoCAD model space and saved the files as 2004. Mastercam has no problem opening these files. Recently we have started making a switch to Inventor and we create the dwgs from Inventor. Inventor dwgs use paper space. When we try to open a dwg from Invenor there is nothing there. I have also tried opening the Inventor dwg in AutoCAD and importing the drawing view into model space and then saving as AutoCAD 2004 and Mastercam still cannot open the file. Another problem I am having is from the export flat pattern from Invneotr. When I export the flat pattern to a 2004 dxf file Mastercam cannot open it either. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? Regards, Nathan Inv 2009 Professional Mastercam X2 (11.2.4.6) Build 2007
