  1. Ok not sure how it got confused but when i actually clicked the regenerate all selected operations it fixed it.. Hmmm wish i knew what i did that fixed it.. Thanks for your help.
  2. actually i just checked that. Its the same, Also I wanted to make sure that i was on the correct WCS and that my settings were all the same on the new toolpaths and the existing toolpaths. they are in fact the same. I just renamed the NC file for all the toolpaths in the first group and it still thinks the newly added ones are seperate for some reason.
  3. When I create multiple toolpath groups with 5 or so toolpaths each, op1(toolpath group) and op2(toolpath group), Save the file. Then go back and add a new toolpath to the bottom of op1, mastercam assumes it using the op2 settings. When i manually change the WCS info.. all looks ok, but it will not output the new toolpaths with the op1 toolpaths. I am a little confused.. is there a special place i am supposed to click when adding a new toolpath to a group that already exists, or is this a bug? Thanks Ziggy

quote: I just uploaded a pdf file called PTC-export.pdf into Text_&_post_files_&_misc on cadcam's FTP site. Not sure if it will help anyone but it tells various config settings to use in pro-e for exporting in iges to different cad programs.I use iges wireframe and surface and have very few problems at all with iges. HTH Does anyone have this file.. It doesnt seem to be on the ftp site anymore.

more info. When i analyze the chain (just a round bore) it is telling me that it's only two entities, So that confirms they are arcs.. I guess. I am useing a true spiral toolpath

I am using X3 with a fadal post. Opening step files converted from Pro-e. All are simple 2d programming. Some of my arcs are are posted using g2 and g3 but some are single point moves making for Huge files.. Is there something That i can do that will make this easier. I have been told to not to use the iges coverter from Pro-e. So i figured the step files would be better to use. What causes this? I have searched with limited sucess. Thanks for your time. Ziggy
  8. Funny thing is we have it working with EditCNC (we currently use Pro-E Manufacturing) with the settings 7,e,1, and 9600.. I am not sure why it doesnt work. Is there multiple places to change these settings. Maybe I am missing a Key piece of this puzzle. Thanks for the welcome..Glad to be here. spent the last year on Pro-E .. good to be back.
  9. Good morning, I have a fadal 4020 1990 model old software.. Just getting mastercam setup to communicate with the machine. I am wondering what machine to select for the file transfer (send). There is not a setting for the Fadal. and for some reason when i select the fanuc it will not work.. I changed the settings to match mine for the baud rate and communication settings. What are you guys using? Thanks for your time.
  10. very nice.. I cant wait for my Class.. But in the mean time I may have to visit this Forum often.. Is the Auto Drill Toolpath worth messing with? I cant get it to work and i know in most other cam softwares some of the added features just confuse the task at hand. Thanks again Guys
  11. thanks for your quick responce..
  12. I am programming my first part with a new install of X-3. I am new to X and have a question that should be pretty easy.. How do I turn off the tool paths from showing all the time. I have a spider web of paths that show on my part from my drilling operations that i cant seem to find the button to turn off. thanks for your time. Ziggy
