I'm using X4 mu3 mastercam. Think that is the latest version. Cannot send file do to it being a proprietary part. I will have to just get soildworks installed on my work station and learn how to use it then. I was looking for a way not to do this.
Importing a Soildworks file design externally. They have gone paperless. There files do have dimensions if you open them in soildwork. I don't have soild works on my machine. Looking for a way to get this information myself. I've tried soildworks viewer and soildworks eDrawing with no luck. Has anyone else have this problem? Your help would be greatly apprecited.
Thanks,
Mark
Just upgaded to X4 mu2 and having problems with converting solidworks and parasolid file. I can bring them in but cannot move it. Tried creating surfaces and then deleting the solid, cannot delete it. Has anyone else have this problem. Is there something I'm doing wrong.
thanks
If you save the sw file on the defult level it doesn't give you the option, but if you save it on another level it does. The designer has multiple parts in the same file, like a right and left hand part. I need MC to see this everytime I open because I don't use sw's and the designers are not always availble. I machined the wrong model because it didn't give me the option. Hope the helps explain a little more.

Zman
I'm using X3 mu1 so I can open soildworks 09 files. My problem is that there are multiple parts in the same soidwork file. Sometime it ask which one I want and other times it just grabs the default one. Is there a config in Mastercam to set to ask this every time you open a soildworks file? If so, where can I find it? Or is there something that has to be done saving the file in soildworks?
Thank you
Zman
Heed,
In Parameter page under clearance plane turn off use clearance only at the start and end of operation. Or change the G99 to G98. Hope that helps.
