Hi Folks, I will be thread milling (Internal and external)a 2.5" x 14 TPI project. Material= PTFE, on a Fadal VMC 3016FX, Fanuc oi-mc, MasterCam X3. As a shop at a University our projects are extremely varied (ex. manufacturing a table top hamster ovary separator one day (hamster was unharmed BTW)to building a three story fluidized reactor the next day). Our materials list is extremely varied as well, ranging from plastics to Stainless steels. What would the best bang for the buck wide ranging thread mill setup be? Any brands well liked? Single point? Multipoint carbide insert?

Hello All, I have been running MasterCam X2 for the better part of a year. This forum is very informative, with some very very knowledgeable people. I am finding the reading quite interesting. We just installed X3 over X2 and have the feed/speed issue.
