Carbide or Cobalt? Which is better or should I be using HSS?

Anyone have experience drilling .04 or .070" dia. holes .15" deep in Tantalum?

You can use create line endpoint. Then select the tangent button on the ribbon bar and select the arcs near where you want the line.
-
Also hold Shift while selecting beginning of chain and desired end of chain for a quick partial chain selection.

Mark,
I see it now.. it only shows when I set some type of tool comp in control. I haven't had any issues because I always use computer.
-
What 5 axis tool path are you using? I don't see anything for " diameter for simulation"
-
Is "Cutter comp in control" box checked in your Configuration; "Verify Interface; Verify Settings"?
-
When you make a change to the number of passes to a projected contour the projected toolpath does not get a red X. and its not regened unless you make sure to do it. You must regen it even though it doesn't show as dirty..

Class of tap should be H1 for a 3b Thread

The dialog comes up, but when I choose a type of toolpath nothing happpens... also when I open an existing file When I regen I get "Warning error Regenerating Operation! 5-Axis Multi Surface" and I cannot open the parameters.. the log file says
"App=MW5AXMSURF Entry=m_main" and then
"Unable to acess operation's dll"C:MCAMX4APPSYOURPRMFUNCTIOM.DLL"
"Exiting App=MW5AXMSURF.DLL"
-
Is anyone having trouble with this?

Just did a test on a new generic box with an I5 3.2Ghz 8Gb Ram FX 580 video with 250 mb sata drive. Tested only once with a time of 1min 22 sec.

IF... you only need to force tool change for verify you can use "Edit common parameters" to turn all ops on and later turn it off for all ops as long as your toolpath regen doesn't take too long.
-
Try a tighter filter tolerance.. like .0001" or .0002" I've found that usually works when I don't get the arc moves I expect.
-
Verisurf works great here.. sometimes it takes a few seconds for the dialog to appear.
-
correct.. You need to save a new/ changed config file from within the configuration dialog.. the buttons near the bottom left. The original config file has the info so that your config file with a different name can be loaded at start-up. Maastercam looks at the one IT creates to find the one that you want loaded.

In House Solutions has great posts for these controls and DMG Machines. Click on the links near the top of the formum.

Easier still use Verisurfs Dynamic surface point Cad check box .. select point... done.

Where is MCView.dll located?

Looks like you need to set your origin in your Toolplane and Comp/construction planes to zeroes in your operation.
