  1. I'm working with a file with tons of small surfaces. When shading, the edges make my file look like a messy blob. I'd like to see the shaded surfaces only, no wireframe, no surface edges. I can't seem to find a way to turn them off in x8. This screenshot has only surfaces visible, no wireframe, with surface edges set to the same color as surfaces.
  2. I have an application where I don't want to use optimize. Roughing out a large 304 forging for many many hours and I need to be able to pick up where the program left off if the tool breaks, machine quits, etc. Rest roughing will still concentrate on an area then move to the next, even with optimite cut order unchecked. I want to be able to determine a z level it stopped at and reprogram. Old surface rough pocket does consistent z level cuts over the entire part, but I can't use it for rest roughing. I can't mid program start without editing my NC code on these older machines. Thanks in advance.
  3. Downloaded the fresh post and it now posts G01 when I turn that switch on. Now to get the post dialed in and tested. Thank you!!!!
  4. Hope I'm not beating a dead horse here. I've searched and found some info, but I'm still not quite there. Here it is: Dogleg rapids are gouging my part at first and last moves on High Speed toolpaths. We're manually changing G00 to G01 at the beginning and end of the code. So I want all my rapids to be changed to G01 at max feedrate. I've changed the Control Definition to "convert rapid to max feedrate", but my post still outputs G00. Pretty sure its a post issue, but not sure what to look for. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  5. I was having the same exact problem and stumbled across something: Do you have any of your large surface programs transformed (mirrored, etc.)? I deleted the transform and everything came back up to speed. Seems like a bug in X3?
  6. BBGun, I've spent the last hour trying to figure out what is causing this and stumbled across something. I had complex shape toolpaths (surface finish parallel) that I was mirroring about y axis. I deleted the transform programs and everything works fine and fast now. Do you have transform programs? Looks like a bug, I've got a call in to my Mastercam Reseller.
  7. autosave writes to a temp file, not the active file. I have not talked to my reseller, but will.
  8. Memory is 2GB, i've tried different settings up to 90% and no change. Autosave is set for 10 min.
  9. Having the same problem. Contour with depth of cut writes fast on a fresh file with no toolpaths, but as you get a lot of toolpaths, simple contours take forever to write, like 1 min+. I noticed that if you turn off depth of cut and use ramp, it computes fast. Another problem: The toolpath parameters page takes forever to open. Click to contour parameters and it opens fast, then click back to toolpath parameters and it takes at least 30 sec. This problem is on all types of toolpaths, but, again, only if you have a lot of toolpaths in the file. Tried it on multiple work stations and get the same result. X3 MU1 Mill Level 3
