  1. My experience is it's all computer and graphics card.
  2. Thanks everybody. Just figured it out. I needed to make a new file from scratch and then merge my geometry to the origin of the new file and not the one i was working in. This is going to be a big help in the future.
  3. Thanks Tony35, I didn't have a center line on my cutter I double checked the x0 y0 z0 location. I don't get why it doesn't work. It puts some geometry in the window when you define the tool. but, I can't make out what it is. Also, it doesn't show up when I backplot. I looked up this in the help and it said to set your backplot setting on the tool to as defined. Did that and the tool still won't show up for me to see.
  4. I am trying to create a tool that is we are having custom made. I went thru the help section in MC to learn about it. Tried all that it said to do and still can't get it to work. Does anybody have any pointers. I put the geometry on a level by itself. I drew up half the cutter.
  5. I am having problems with the text definition for drill cycles in my control definition manager for a post that I am using. I have options for drilling that I don't need when I go to generate a tool path. For example: initial height, peck clearance, etc. I have figured out that I need to change it under the text heading of the control def. manager and thru the help function for MC it says that you can only edit this by going directly thru the control def manager and not thru machine def manager. The problem I am having is how do I change and save the necessary changes I want to make?
  6. I am trying to rotate and move some solids of my tabs on a part I am programming. I am getting an error that says "operation requires planar chain set" I haven't seen this before. Can anybody help me understand what I need to do. I looked in the help menu and did a search but it didn't help.
  7. Yeah we firued this out the hard way a while back. What we are having to do is hand edit our posted programs to get all A axis rotations to a positve number. The post I have doesn't support Mastercam X machine definitions. I was just looking to see if anybody knew what I could change on my current post. Or if it's even possible. Basically I need to get away from hand editing my nc files.
  8. I just read on my post that it doesn't support mach def setting in mastercam x. Is there a change I can make to this post without having to set-up a new post?
  9. Oh sorry, machine is fadal 5020 and the post is.... does mpfan generic fanuc sound correct?
  10. Ok, My machine will not move to the correct location if an A axis move is put into negative value format. I am trying to get my machien def and post set-up correctly. The post we use is the generic 4 axis post. (almost 100% positive) Thanks.
  11. I am working on a part that has multiple positions. On pos 1 I ran it thru verify and saved the result as an stl file. The problem is that I have the next pos as another mill group in my operation manager. When I go to that pos in the ops manager I try to verify and use the stl file as stock. What results is the stock comes up in the wrong wcs not how it needs to be oriented to run this portion of the program. I have had trouble with this in the past and just keep "messing" with things until I get it to somewhow work. Can anybody here save me some time...? Thank you in advance.
  12. I am trying to take a .250 ball mill and work out a corner in a wall. i would like to roll the head over in a and b axis and cut this along the z axis like a contour. I'm not sure what tool path would do this for me. I have tried a couple of things but, can't get it to work. Simple movement but haven't done this before. If I can do this I don't have to worry about a tool holder rubbing on the wall. Can anybody give me a tip? Thanks
  13. That is what I am doing now. I would like to go straight from the solid to a wire frame without making surfaces.
