  1. I am trying to mill our company name into a piece of steel. I analyzed the text and found the widest and most narrow part of the text. The first pass, with an endmill just smaller than widest path, milled as much as it could stopping where the path was too narrow. I then used the "remaching" choice in the pocket parameters tab with an endmill smaller than the narrowest path. The end result was incomplete machining. Is there a setting somewhere that will allow the program to allow the endmills to machine 100 percent of the path? Thanks
  2. Is their a way to machine a bore with an end mill and not leave a mark where the tool pulls out in the xy plane. There is no z move when the cutter is against the wall. The end mill is a 4 flute carbide with differential helix, 3/4 dia. The bore is 1.6" deep. Thanks
  3. Is it possible to vary the feed and speed for one contour path? I need to slow down in one part of my path due to the endmill reaching a deeper wall thickness (depth of cut).
  4. I have x3 mill level 1 without the solids option. I am trying to move the wcs on a solid so I can machine which is now the bottom of the part. Is there a way to move the wcs and flip the part at the same time without the solids option? Tim Boone Pro System Mooresville, NC 704.799.8100
  5. Thank you everyone for the tips. I am new to solids and am looking forward to learning how to use them for toolpath. How do I bring in a solid as surfaces as Hockey Guy suggests? Is a solid from Solidworks brought in as a different format as default? I guess the bottom line is I need the solids option to be productive.
  6. So in other words, picking toolpath off a solid is only possible if the solids option is installed. Is there anyway around this?
  7. Does the solids option have to be installed in level one to be able to use a Solidworks model. I have level one x3 and am trying to flip and rotate a model to achieve the right orientation.
  8. Anyone have any tips on how to use a Solidworks model in level 1? I have been using 2d drawings up until now.
