  1. Ahhh what a sore spot for me....that freaking E-stop.......What pisses me off is those guys that slam on the e-stop like its the buttons on a arcade game....they come loose ,short out,,,causeing big time headaces.......I dont use the e-stop unless theres a problem with the machine & i have to stop it on the spot!....shut the control down ,power main turned off...thats it for me......LaTER FOLKS

  2. About one hundred years ago I was forced to load parts on a fadal cause the regular operator was sick. They looked at me and said you look like you can handle this.

I was scared S###less....THe HEad set up programmer was a MORON IDIOT PIN HEAD ....I watched him for hours program & setup & crashed the spindal

into the table......THREE TIMES..LOLOLOL.......So i said to myself....I like this work I can do that and get PAID!

This jerk so called programmer hid all the programming books from everyone. I contact Fanuc & Fadal Engineering & purchaced all the manuals,,,attended the fancu mill classes in southfield mich.

The light bulb in my head lit Up.....I like making stuff this way...this is the coolest ,the possibilites are endless! As a draftman (MODELER)I had the jump on everyone else...(I can read a Freakin print LOL)

My VALUE WENT UP BIG TIME OVER NIGHT !

I started to hang with the manual machinist a do simple jobs and uses the cnc to do the radial funky stuff and i got fast and good ! then i took on more complex stuuf as time when on !the old guys

over (sixty ) showed me the ropes ! I owe them dearly.

Like i said that was a Long time ago...thats how i goy started

  3. In pipe (NPT)tapping holes that the print calls for the tap hole to be flat bottom & shallow( CLOSE TO THE BOTTOM THREAT )I use the powdered carb tread mills 80.-350$

OR A SINGLE point.....this allows room for the bottom tread (TIGHT) to get close to the floor of the blind hole..comp out the size

  4. Woooo Nelly.....I never trust this function totally in any cam or cad system..(I got burned once never again)..double check for equal distance between points

Do this.....analyze/length...then divide this by the number of points you want on that polyline...errrrr spline

this can also tell you what is the equal spacing each point is along that spline........copy spline & points to another screen location ....Break this copy at the points.

Then analyze each segment & compare values.....they should be the same.

  5. Cimmatron was My first really good system.& i still use it....Maintenance fees are a Killer...But the Powers Still Kicks for molding JObs !

My Partner Uses it mostly now !..I went to Mastercam cause of the support & Multi machine tool post support....and you can get a Job

FAster if you got Mastercam under your belt . Oh yes Mastercam Kicks Butt too.,,,and its more fun to use.

  6. I,m reading up on the G10 stuff ...Macro B i belive is Intalled ... real cool lots of Power there. And thanks for the G52 tip !

Just got a 5000 part order increse per month ...Now i,m gonna make 2.. 80 load fixures with handels for OFF the machine parts loading ....To be swapped out by the operator to keep the spindels going...Boy i,m having Fun !......LOve this forum !

THis G10 stuff is next on the to do list

    Thanks guys

  7. Hi Guys

Forum search came up zilch on this topic so here it goes

I have fixures with up to 48 loads ,two of my Acra tapping centers

has those Kewl G54.1P1 thru P48.....way Kewl BUt too many work location inputs to the control(GRRRRRRR)

)with Local coordinance just pick up the location on FIxture master referance point & input the

48 known location in the program (G52XnnYnn)shifts & Thats Much faster & was more Kewl...bang bang DONE!

six other machines Viper 950...HAS only the G54-G59 NT magicpro GRRRR...i,m using local coords & bang bang done!

Has anyone tryed this method for M/c to post out Can it be Done????

    Chips Flying...PING POP sizzle....OUCH! mad.gif ...S*%#$!*!&

  8. Look folks

Lets get real here for a second.Hasp hanging in the back unguarded, un-protected is like saying

COME TAKE ME AWAY!....Look ,,,,Wire all hasp to a lockdown room or mini vault with alarm..entry keys or codes to 2plp only......Problem solved this will at least stop the grab & RUN thief

DONT TRUST ANYBODY(ok YOur mom you can trust)

    ;)Peace out

  9. Roll taps man....use ROLL TAPs!!......I use Standard cut taps only a s a last resort.

    I also love those thread monster solid carbide(powederd) cut taps...250 to 300$ a piece....there kick AR@#!

interpolate a rough & finish pass for each hole .......last forever!!!!

I make it.... you sell it !

  10. Dude

I feel your pain,,,Been there & heard that kinda stuff & it still blows my mind.

I find that most bosses are simply computer scared & are afraid of loosing

control in management & ownership !

Some owners wont to this day use a cam system !!!!

There still stuck in the horse & buggy days of old .

  11. Dont feel bad Jayman

Iv been at shops that refuse to use any cadcam at all......cause of there manual

programming pride & are just plain computer scared !

Iv also have been told to my face ( this shop will never go cadcam programming)

I watched these clowns program at the control for 3 & 4 hours on stupid simple

parts that can be done on cadcam in less than 20 minutes...scraping parts out

big time as setup pieses.Busting tools left & right !

They are clueless to the art of feeds & speeds. Eccesive tool hangs for the

work being done. The list goes on !!!

I just shake my head & smile & watch the comic cartoon show.

No matter what you say to them there still stuck on stupid !

  12. yes that would work also....but there are times when i might have to vary the depth of each pass & too1 stepover amount !

    example

stock to leave .180....first pass .1 step over amount....stock might vary in over-all amount.!

    (safetypass)

stock to leave .150...pass.two .05 stepover

    stock to leave.100..pass 3 .05 stepover

    stock to leave..05...pass 4 .05 stepover

stock to leave..01...pass 5 01 stepover with add cuts..turned on

  13. This is what i do when i have extra stock on castings to deal with

Create a bunch off rough contour tool paths & skim my tool depth down using the stock to leave option

    "Example"

rough contour,,,,, stock to leave .150.....first pass

rough contour ,,,stock to leave .100.....second pass

rough contour,,,, stock to leave.05........third pass

rough contour,,, stock to leave .01........Final pass

    this works for me
