  1. I'm programming a part where I want to call a drill and go to a point (0,0,2), 2 inches above my part, picking up my H offset code and approaching to a clearance plane. Then I want to call a cycle in G98 and have the "I" value at .5 above the part and the R at -.50. However...when I post the job, I get a G55 code in my output program. I want to remain in G54. I've got the same result in 2 different systems. Why is this sequence changing my work coordinate system?
  2. I'm just starting X2 and I can't even create a friggin line (sometimes)! I select Line/Enpoints/Horizontal or Vertical. Click..click. 2 Points...NO LINE! Any 2 points... NO LINE! I created the original model yesterday. Created geometry no problem. Just like V9. Today...click click...NO LINE. I must be doing something wrong or different from before. Can anybody help?
  3. I'm looking for a practical use for the Dynamic poit craetion function. It seems to be just point approximation. I have a pardigm about defining geometry with accurate values.

    Nurbs

Can anyone give me a simple explanation about Nurbs. (Non-uniform rational b-splines).? What are they and what are they used for?
  5. Thanks guys for multiple viewports providing i had a 3D rendering already. I was kind of looking at building a 3D view from the planar views.
  6. How can I produce a 3 view drawing (top, side, front) and then show an isometric view in a fourth position on the same page?
  7. Yes, it seems that I must already have a known point to drag the entity to. Because its multi directional, I can't seem to be able to assign a distance value to the drag. I'm stuck in a parallel line paradigm. I think I'm looking for similar controlled results.
  8. Can somebody give me an example of a practical use for the drag function? How can I can easily and rapidly create accurate entitties? It seems like a long way or cumbersome way to make geometry.
  9. Why do some entities become undeletable. Am I inadvertently associating them with other geometry? It seems if I delete some surrounding entities, I can then delete the entities I want to, but I don't know what I did to link them. As well I had some text that got broken into base elements and I had to delete it 1 line/arc at a time,(or by a window). How did this font lose it's text attribute?
  10. Does anyone know what the curves are called that represent a surface? In Catia they are called Isoparameters. Are they the same in MC?
  11. Is there a way to reverse the surface direction of an already created surface? Or for that matter on a surface during it's creation? I'm usually working with ruled, lofted or drafted surfaces. Thanks CH
  12. Is there a way to create a C-plane through a point normal to a curve? (Similar to normal to a line).
  13. Does anyone know how to quickly create a threaded hole representation in a solid? Thanks Camhead
  14. Yes you're right Millturn. I forgot about the arithmetic function. Thanks for your patience. I'm Catia based and I'm always looking for a parallel function in MC.
  15. Thanks Millturn but that's not exactly what I was looking for. Let's say I have only 1 line on my screen and I don't know the angle of it,(and I don't want to know the angle), I just want to create a line at 32 degrees relative to it. It appears that Xform + Copy at 32 degrees will solve my problem. However my quest was to find a similar solution within the Line + Polar function. Create a line at 32 degrees to my existing line.
