Why would they reinforce the negatives?
It would be more like acknowledging that there are problems that need attention and users that are unhappy.

Think anyone will take notice?
Think anything will change?

Take a look at the real issues. We all have to make a living using this software. version after version the old bugs are there. They throw out (enhancements to stir up new customers) which to me is hiding behind the wall. I have been around a long time and have made a good living as a CNC programmer using Mastercam. There are some good people working there. Sad thing is, they have lost touch with us, for what ever reason. My company will be looking elsewhere for productivity instead of paying year after year for the same problems. There is already a few long time members of this forum that have moved to better software.

Try using the helix option. Set the Z clearance to something more than your step-down.

when creating temporary geometry, or curves and deleting them they never actually go away sometimes they disapear till I move or rotate my part and other times they are still visable but you can't select them. I find myself running the ram saver alot to get ride of this stuff why is this happening? There are other programers here that have the same issues and are constantly running the ram saver. Also sometimes I find certian things like the xform translate not working unless I run the ram saver before I do it. we are running MCX4 with MU3.
This happens to me 3 times a week and the only thing that fixes it is to shut down MC and restart.

I don't think so Tim.

Hi All,
is it possible to have as a default my nci and nc file names the same as my geometry file name?
Thanks
Go to settings, configuration, Toolpath Manager, NC file and check the box (MCX file name).

Seems to me you could have said that plainly in your first post and avoided the rest of this debacle.
Juss' sayin'
You should have gotten that from the topic!
"Fix the current software before creating new"

CNC cant live on new seats alone.
get your maintenance if you want bug fixes and or enhancements.
Our maintenance is up to date!

Thanks,Robert @ True Position

All I’m trying to say is fix the bugs first. Everything else should come second.

That wasn’t directed at you Roger.

"No sorry I was being serious - I didn't know what your problem was exactly because you were saying 'don't release new features' but then said 'solid chaining lacks functionality'. Improving existing features is something that happens in updated versions - but you're right, doesn't happen on a current version."
Everyone knows what I’m talking about. Stop pretending you don’t understand. FIX THE SH*T.

"Okay - so if a new version of Mastercam comes out that has better solid chaining... that's a problem? because from what you said up top it sounds like you don't want them to come up with new features (ie: improved solid chaining)"
Is this sarcasm? You are an administrator?
-
Roger, I’ve sent in files lots of them. Do you remember my file merge problem? I’m still waiting for a solution.
-
Solid chaining is still the same as when it first came out.
-
You have to frequently regenerate dirty machining operations in Mastercam. Why do machining operations go dirty just from opening a Machining Parameters dialog box even if you construct no changes?
-
"or reading the forum, not contributing"
Yes, I must admit.
-
For example solid, chaining it lacks functionality. Try to chain the outside of a block that has a chamfer around it. It’s a pain
-
Why is it that CNC Software doesn’t seem to care about fixing and or improving the current software? Instead they focus there attention on developing new features, toolpaths and whatnots full of bugs and problems.

Dynamic toolpaths are the way to go, I’m cutting 316 SS .250 deep .015 steep over with a .140 diameter 4 flute EM 15000 RPM 100 IPM. They cut for days.
the tools last for days that is.
