  1. Dynamic toolpaths are the way to go, I’m cutting 316 SS .250 deep .015 steep over with a .140 diameter 4 flute EM 15000 RPM 100 IPM. They cut for days. the tools last for days that is.
  2. Improvise, Adapt, Overcome... Is What CNC needs to do. Get out of their comfort zone.
  3. It would be more like acknowledging that there are problems that need attention and users that are unhappy.
  4. 567 Replies 33,959 Views Think anyone will take notice? Think anything will change? "definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results!"
  5. Running in X5mu1 the original benchmark file. 2 Mins Dell Precision T5400 Windows XP pro x64 32 GB of RAM 8 Core Xeon X5450 @ 3.00GHz Quadro FX-3800
  6. Try using the helix option. Set the Z clearance to something more than your step-down.
  7. This happens to me 3 times a week and the only thing that fixes it is to shut down MC and restart. X5 MU1, Mill 3 Solids Dell Precision T5400 Intel Xeon Dual Quad Core X5450 @3.00GHz Windows XP Professional x64 32.0 GB of RAM NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800
  8. Go to settings, configuration, Toolpath Manager, NC file and check the box (MCX file name).
  9. You should have gotten that from the topic! "Fix the current software before creating new"
  10. All I’m trying to say is fix the bugs first. Everything else should come second.
  11. "No sorry I was being serious - I didn't know what your problem was exactly because you were saying 'don't release new features' but then said 'solid chaining lacks functionality'. Improving existing features is something that happens in updated versions - but you're right, doesn't happen on a current version." Everyone knows what I’m talking about. Stop pretending you don’t understand. FIX THE SH*T.
  12. "Okay - so if a new version of Mastercam comes out that has better solid chaining... that's a problem? because from what you said up top it sounds like you don't want them to come up with new features (ie: improved solid chaining)" Is this sarcasm? You are an administrator?
  13. Roger, I’ve sent in files lots of them. Do you remember my file merge problem? I’m still waiting for a solution.
  14. Solid chaining is still the same as when it first came out.
  15. You have to frequently regenerate dirty machining operations in Mastercam. Why do machining operations go dirty just from opening a Machining Parameters dialog box even if you construct no changes?
  16. "or reading the forum, not contributing" Yes, I must admit.
  17. For example solid, chaining it lacks functionality. Try to chain the outside of a block that has a chamfer around it. It’s a pain
  18. Why is it that CNC Software doesn’t seem to care about fixing and or improving the current software? Instead they focus there attention on developing new features, toolpaths and whatnots full of bugs and problems.
