At this point I would be happy just to migrate my tool library and post. I'll fat finger the rest. For the 4th time I've tried uninstalling then reinstalling X8. Using the migration wizard is not working for my situation I guess. Just keeps screwing up my X6 every time. Very frustrating. Good thing I don't have a hot job waiting to be programmed.

That happened to me yesterday. Had to use Windows "restore previous version" of my MCX6 folder to get MCX6 to run again.

What is the best way to migrate from X6 to X8 without using the migration wizard? I know I can manually copy the files over but not sure which ones. And not sure where to copy them to. We are running off a server so I have files scattered. My goal is to keep X6 still running in the shop while I get comfortable with X8.

Do you know of any softwares that work in Mastercam that will give me that solids history (besides Catia)?.... MoldPlus, SpaceClaim?

Using the catia translator, will I be able to read the solids history when importing a catia solid model?

I have just installed Moldplus for Mastercam add-on. I have a 30 day evaluation period. Anybody have any advice on where I can find a quick tutorial? The software doesn't seem very self explanitory. I'm not seeing much of anything, neither online nor at their website, on how to use this software.

What is the best method to use to decelerate the feed at the inside corners when contouring? I would like to get mastercam to post my program with alternate feeds without having to go back and type the feeds in manually at every G3. Is there a way to tag the geometry where you want the slower feed to take place maybe?

I am programming using two different work offsets (#1 and #2). I would like to have the Z raise up 2" between the work offsets. Using the "clearance" setting in "linking parameters" executes a clearance move before and after. I don't want the clearance move before the operation, only after. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

I need to "Create Letters". I'm receiving the nomenclature via a Word doc, from engineering to apply to the machined part. Is there a way to "center justify" the text? I'm not seeing the option anywhere to make this happen. I've highlited the text and right clicked to see the "right to left reading order" option. That will only justify the text from left to right. I'm not seeing "center justify" in the "TrueType" options nor the "drafting options". I'm not able to bring the text in from the Word doc center justified. It just defaults to the left.

We are running X6 in our shop. We have 2 seats of Mill level 3, 1 seat of Lathe and 1 seat of Solids. We just recently switched over to using a NHasp on our server. Now every so often we are not able to access the Solids Options. When we look at the "Active Licenses" in the NHasp software it shows that, although no seats of Mastercam are active, Solids is being used so we have no access. Has anyone had a issue with the NHasp not letting go of the Solids? When our IT department resets the server drive it will then release the Solids and I am able to access it then. This happens every few days.

Okay. I opened up the file in X6 and disabled hardware acceleration as you said. I remembered trying that before and remembered why it will not work. The file did verify without crashing but it is useless to run the software with that setting as I don't have hours to sit around and watch the tools move across the screen at a snails pace. I don't understand why it will verify quickly in X4 (with hardware acceleration enabled) and as soon as I apply the MU3 upgrade it crashes when verifying. My machine: DELL INTEL CORE 2 DUO E8400 3.0 GHz 2.00 GB RAM ATI REDEON HD 2400 PRO WINDOWS XP PRO

Has anyone had this problem?; I'm currently running X4. I've never had any problem with "verify" until I upgraded to MU3. Now when I try and verify any high resolution surfacing toolpaths Mastercam crashes. X4 verifies fine. Anything upgrade after X4 crashes. I even tried verifying the same file in X6 and it crashed right away. Is there some setting somewhere that I'm missing?
