  1. So im struggling with the Exact same issue you are. Have you found a solution? We are finding X7 is crashing a lot! The crash issue doesnt seem to be file specific and i cant figure out what is causing it. We are running X7 SP2 and Verisurf X7 7-15-2013. I did however have X6 installed when i installed X7, and after X7 was installed and working i un-installed X6. Could this have removed something that X7 needed to run? Im currently re-downloading Mastercam X7, going to remove my current copy and clean the registry and see if it helps. If anyone else has figured out the cause of this crash you would save me quite the headache!!
  2. Anyone ever seen something like this before - at the bottom right corner of my screen where the gview, cplane, level, color, wcs buttons are have disappeared! All I have left is the 2D / 3D button! Hopefully someone can help me.
  3. Alright heres the scenario - We need an efficent way of setting up parts to be trimmed and drilled on our 5 axis. All parts have one flat surface (Datum A) and a second surface (Datum . Trim profile is not important but hole positions are very tight. We are using mastercam to generate the trim programs. We produce many differnt parts at a high rate and part setup time on the machine is killing us. We have a Renishaw probe but are not quite sure how to use it. Ive attached a basic picture to give a better mental image. ANY help that can be given is greatly appreciated.
  4. We are running the verisurf add-on for X4, and we have just purchased our first perceptron v5 scanner for reverse engineering. When reverse engineering with verisurf it is taking a lot of time because apparently X4 will only use 1 processor for calculations. Im running a quad Xeon 2.53ghz workstation and should have no problems what-so ever doing these reverse engineering tasks. Are any of the future versions of mastercam going to run using multi cores?
  5. We are trying to setup probing programs with our renshaw probe so that we can probe the locations of our trim fixtures and automatically offset the trim program or the axis so that the part is trimmed correctly. Currently we are probing the parts by hand and this is not effective. What i would like to do, is setup my trim tool on the machine, probe it to find its actual location, then translate my trim program so it matches where the tool actuly is. i need some help as to how we would use the renshaw probe to find the location of my tools and then what steps we would have to take before we could run our trim program. If there is anyone out there that can help me? We are using mastercam for the programming and running a Siemens 840D controller.
