Hello Everyone: I am trying to mill a pocket. I have set everything up similar to when I face and drill. But when I try to check out the tool path nothing happens. Double click on the tool path and then I click on the play icon. When I face and drill the tool simulates the route. When I try to create a pocket it doesn’t. I would like to know two different methods. First, plunge from X,1.000 Y,1.000 Z-.1 Z+.1 X,1.250 Y, 1.250 Z-.1 Z+.1 Etc. The other method would be X,1.000 Y,1.000 Z-.1 Y,2.000 Z+.1 X,1.000 Y,1.000 Z-.2 Y,2.000 Z+.1 I am going to try to attach a copy of pictures hoping that will they help? I don’t see where to attach a graphic (Screen Shot) can you also tell me how I can do that. I hope I did this right. I am still new to MasterCAM please bare with me. I am using X2.

Hello Everyone: Again please bear with me; I am very new to MasterCAM. If I use an incorrect term please let me know the correct term to use. I am trying to mill a face or a pocket. But when I get to the chain part of the program I get lost. I have tried a couple of different things and I can’t make anything work. Can someone please tell me what I need to do in beginner’s terms? Hello Everyone: I am sorry for asking since a basic question, but I have been fighting with this for some time and as you can tell I am new to MasterCAM. I am trying to learn how to use the X2 demo. How do I set 0, 0? Let’s just say I am drawing a simple 1 2 3 block. And I want the lower left corner of the block to be 0, 0 or maybe 0, 0 is 4 inches positive in the X and Y, how would I set that? What do you call 0,0 so I can look it up in the help feature? Can anyone suggest a site that would have very basic starting tutorials? I have watched the video quit a few times, but I can’t really see what they are doing there is a caption that covers the buttons. Thanks Art
