  1. Thank you. I found the issue. There is an actual setting in Mach3 under ports and pins/turn which reverses arcs in front post. I unchecked it and my arcs are now correct. I am still working on the G73 threading issues. Bob
  2. Degmc, Thank you. I have actually been using that post file and I am getting odd arcs. It may be I am just not selecting the right components or setting up the planes correctly. I guess I need to live with the upside down visuals. Thanks, Bob
  3. I forgot to add I am using MACH3 to control my machine.
  4. I am having a hard time with the Lathe machine definition with X3. My service rep wants me to pay for maintanance but my company is not spending on tools right now. I have a simple lathe converted to CNC with the spindle on the left and the cross feed in front and tailstock on the right. Am I wrong in assuming I can get mastercam to display when using a top veiw the tool path cutting stock with the tool entering the bottom of the screen instead of the top? What should I set up for the tool post (there is no turret). I can't find good information on the selection of components and setup to define my machine and the arcs and threading are off. Thanks, Bob
  5. Is there a document which defines the parameters in the machine tool definition (preferably with pictures)? Like what the orientation is of upper or lower turret and how to select the side of the centerline for tooling? Thanks, Bob
  6. Thank you. I am realativly new to Mastercam. Do I need to rewrite the Post processor to choose I & J format. I have the4 same issue with G73 for threading. I have seen some comments suggesting to use G32 instead but I am not sure how for force that. Bob
  7. I am using the mplmaster Fanuc Lathe post to output to Mach3. The problem I am having is the toolp[ath for arcs. The post output I get often causes the arc to go in the wrong direction and I have to go through the Gcode converting some gcodes from G03 to G02 or changing the radius value to negative. Can anyone offer advise? Also the G73 post values are incorrect for Mach3 but I am going to try editing the Fanuc post for correct that. Bob
  8. Thank you. I noticed that with some manufacturers that the cutter point for the 60deg thread is only about .1" deep limiting the TPI by how deep the thread can be cut before hitting the cutter shoulder. I guess I will start my own library.
  9. I need to enter some lathe brazed E and ER style tooling. Is there a library available or do I have to create each tool? Also I have the cutter dimensions but mastercam askes for the TPI. How do I caluclate the TPI based on cutter dimaension? Thanks, Bob
