Hello
I saved my stl file but when I create a new machine group and select this as my stock it still treats it as a rectangular stock. I want to use surface rough pocket and use the stl file I created. Are you actually using this file or is this just for visualization purposes only?
Is this used often? Is this stl file accurate? I'm guessing that in my next operation I would have to create a new machine group in order to use this stock.
Hello
I was wondering if it was possible once I created my first roughing toolpath to save that stl file and use it as my new stock in my next roughing tool path. Basically I want to hog out as much material as I can using a flat end mill and then I want to start using my ball to start machine the leftover. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks for the info guys. I will try to machine a part. Do you know how to set up my WCS with a STL file? Looks like I can't select any lines. Does my part have to be in the correct orientation before importing?
Hello
Does anyone have experience machining STL files?
I have a block that I scanned using polyworks and exported as a STL file but I have no experience machining this. Any feed back would be helpful.
Thanks,
Hello.
Is there a way of copying geometry selected from one toolpath to the next. I hate always having to select the same toolpath geometry.
Thanks,
Paul
Is there anyway of finding out where the top of my stock is in mastercam (z value), or do I have to go back to my cad software to figure it out?
I cant select the top of my stock.
I have a surface that I want to machine using surface rough parallel. I brought in my own stl stock file which is just rectangular in shape. The tool just wants to plunge right up to my surface ignoring my stock file. Why does this happen? I even tried not using a stl file, just a requalr stock and I get the same results. I'm using X4 if that matters.
Thanks,
When selecting my surfaces for machining the entire part is selected. This is imported step or iges data that I'm using. Is there a way of only selecting the surfaces that I want machined and ignoring the rest?
P.S. I'm using X4.
Hello
Does anyone know of any Mastercam programming jobs in the Toronto area? I'm only programming part time here but love it so much I would like to program full time.
Thank you.
Hello.
Does anyone know if it's possible to group together operations together in a folder? I have a few programs that have so many operations that it's diffictult for me to find an operation that I need to edit.
Thanks,
Paul
