the Insert was a Mitsubishi GY2M0600J300N-BM VP20RT - W=6mm (.236INCH) - GFU51.

During the show (5 days) we cut all parts with the same insert. And the insert is still used for parts. Mitsubishi could not believe it.

this has nothing to do with Solids.

It is not possible to work with an STL file inside of Mastercam. But you can machine it directly under Toolpath, Surface.

STL are just triangle - lines. More than shading or machine them is not possible.

Hi Rick,

we have a similar problem here with two different customers. Both has problemns loading files (mostly import DXF on a Novell Networks). If they do it in v9.x it takes about 3 minutes to get the file. If they start Mastercam v8 on the same pC they get the file in secounds. So it must be a MC problem. With v9.1 it is a litle bit better, but there is still a big time different between v8 and v9. We have no idea at the moment whats wrong.

This happends only on Novell networks.

Rel. 0.4.14.50 is close for release. The 3+2 works fine there. And you will find some new options there, like: rest material support for the contour strategy.

Our beta tester here in germany are very happy with this tool. The roughing saves a lot of calculation and machining time.

Yes, it is possible. Ask your local dealer.

Our beta tester are very content. They cut large parts (>30.000 surfaces) fast, sure and reliable.

I only can advise everybody: try it and send the data on the machine. Then you will see what HSM is.

Bute note:

The HSM Performance Pack is a packet to extend the existing Mastercam technology for High speed machining and cuting hard material. They do not replace it. Like an add on, you just can do more - you are more flexible.

here is a mc9rs.dll with the separated buttons in the Operation manager. I change also a litle bit the file get dialog. We extend the file name field it because we use always long file names.

MC9RS.dll for v9.1 (approx. 650 kb)

Copy the dll in you Mastercam main dir.

(but please save first your orgin mc9rs.dll)

The DLL is only for v9.1

this is not possible in the actual Version of Mastercam, but with vX you will get this - from CNC Software.

At the moment you have to life with what you have - sorry.

go to Toolpath, Surface and set the option "CAD file" to "Y". After setting the parameter the system ask you for the STL file.
