  1. Newbie question here: I recently bought X4 and I'm trying to link up to my controller. My current issue is in trying to understand the various Z heights involved. I've tried reading stuff on the internet about machine home, etc, but it's just not making sense. When I do a G28, my controller homes the machine and sets Z=0. I put tool #1 in, do a G43 to bring the tool down Z-1.43", so that it's 0.25" above my 0.75" material stock. Then, I want to plunge Z-1 into the material down to the spoil-board. Given this scenario (and assuming I leave Clearance and Retract unchecked), what values should I have for feed plane, TOS, and depth in my linking parameters? On a related note, I'm also trying to learn ATP, and I noticed that it sets Depth = 0 when it creates it's MCX files. So I need to get this figured out too, because I thought the depth should have been -1.
  2. Hey, New user here - I do cabinetry. The woodworking forum looks sparse, so I'll post here instead. I'm trying to find a work-flow using Cabinet Vision. CV exports DXF files using 8-sided polygons to represent holes rather than an arc. What are my options here? I'm just getting my feet wet with MC, so I'm not sure if there's a feature recognition that works in this case?
