Thanks Dr. Evil
To much info! but GOOD info.
I think I'll go bootcamp to start. I hear I need to create a partition for bootcamp, si?
Also have Snow Leopard, not installed. Install it?

Thanks Jay.
For any nubies, (or not), can you post detailed info
on how to go about installing MCAMX, and Solidworks if ya know, on a Mac?
Oh, and which OS are you using on the Mac?
Thanks!

Only CB2 Main, CB6 User and CB3 Coolant in the cabinet. No CB5 TSC.
Haas says that "Tool Clamp Fault 134, Circuit Breaker CB4" means "draw bar limit switch" problem. O . . . K . . .
Got into the spindle head, manually cycled the draw bar solenoid. Sticky at first, then fine.
Apparently no CB4.

Doesn't appear to be in the electrical cabinet. Anyone know where it is located?
Thanks!

Durrr... not in this thread...
This link:
http://www.mmsonline.com/articles/0399sup.html
which you linked to, James, from Columbo's link above.
Thanks!

Actually 2x6M L2 cashe. Why only 2 for a quad core? So 2 cores share one cashe?

(on the right) Small & Medium Business
(on the left) Refurbished
(on the left "Select a product line" down arrow)
Dell Precision
These are not all stripped down. The whole range from basic to many bells and whistles.
Previously ordered new, Certified Refurbished and Scratch & Dent. I think all with full warranty.
Very good prices, you can go to Dell's regular site and spec exactly or close to what is offered and see the savings.

Numerics keypad? I think it does not.

On Solidworks Graphics and Hardware page the
NVidia GeForce 7600 is listed as "Tested (Not Recommended)"
Ya'll want a "Certified (Recommended)" card

Spaceball? Spacepilot? John, don't you prefer the Pilot?
Insight Network Equipment and PC has em on ebay for about half price...

128GB of Ram 1TB Disk space. How much does that cost?
@ about $500/4G, $16K
1TB disk, low end (which you probably don't want)
<$1K

Get out the margarita blender and make an ice water "slurpie", pre-cool part and fixture; will reduce or eliminate any expansion issues.

Carmen
Do you have a spreedsheet with the numbers?
Thanks

Thanks John.
I always thought with your depth of knowledge you should work for CNC... I mean get paid by CNC.

Ya think it's not related to MC9 bein' a DOS app., and havin' control over memory; but now X is windoz, and gave up control of memory to windoz?

my bad. didn't see Scooch reactivated this thread.
Scooch, I think you just left click on the light gray vertical bar at the left side of each menu, then drag and drop it to the other screen. Then, if ya still wanna move it around, ya gotta grab it by the blue title bar. You can also move it back to auto-dock with other menus by drag and drop right next to existing menus in MX.

Just curious. What computer hardware you runnin'?
-
I have X MR2 and X2 Demo. My Mastercam X Control Panel Utility say "X2" and when I try to change something it says "error opening registry". So if I REALLY wanna change something, I have to get rid of X2 demo???
-
"What does it mean to be Vista capable? The original X2 can't run on it?"
Been covered, do a search. It runs. Pista does not support OpenGL graphics, emulates it, so there's a substantial performance hit. Graphics sumpin like 80% slower for Solidworks, probably about the same for X2.
I think any OpenGL app will run on Pista, but much slower.
The Pista compatable apps use the (directx?) graphics standard of Pista, and are much faster,
graphics wise.
Analyze pops up in middle of my SCREEN!!!

Is that the same file as Start/Control Panel/Mastercam X ???
