The thicker carpet tape has thickness variation issues. There is also a thin carpet tape that does not have the thickness variation issue.
3M makes an awesome tape, 667 I think, very good adhesion, good coolant resistance, and much easier removal than lots of em.

Hot Keys inside of commands have always(?) been there. Hot Keys for the main menu have been added with MR2, to toggle when the Alt key is pressed, as indicated by the underlined letter in the Main menu file names. Opened menus will also have hot keys underlined.
Learning Mode prompts, displaying all of the hot keys for functions you have activated, can be turned on by going to Settings> Configuration> Screen on the right, in the middle, check Use Learning Mode prompts.
When in the function, hover over any button in the Ribbon bar and all of the hot keys will be displayed below the ribbon bar.

Never Mac'd, know people who have for quite a while. Apples quality is commendable, as is quite the oppsite for usoft ('nother story...)
Yeah, winders has gathered their excrement in one location, about 10 years after the winders intro. Any wonder why MCAM was reluctant to cede the power? And then look what they got. 'Nother nother story.
So is apple takin clue from linux?

When Apple announced that they were going to an Intel chip set, the Win people oohed and said "so you'll be able to run Win apps?" and Apple said oh no that's not our intention. All the smart people said "YEAH RIGHT!"
Following is a quick response from a friend who knows a little:
I haven`t done any of this stuff but as I understand it there are (2)
ways to run WinApps on the IntelMacs
(1) Using Bootcamp (Apple software) to allow the machine to boot
WindowsXP w/o booting Mac OS X; WindowsXP & associated apps have the
whole machine but the details of accessable ports etc are hazy to me
(2) Using Parallels virtualization app allows Windows, associated
apps & Mac OS X stuff to run along side each other w/o the dual boot
method (http://www.parallels.com/)
(Parallels method also, I understand, allows you to run any other x86
OS as well as MSWindowsXP should you wish to run MSWindowsME, OS/2,
DR-DOS etc)
I`d be careful about either of these w/o actually doing some testing,
particularly when any kind of "copy protection" (dongle etc) might be
involved as I suspect is the case w/these high end apps
You might try checking this website (http://www.architosh.com/) for
some hints
Irongate, do you have some links on running Solidworks on the Mac???
Thanks

Heidenhain has a great website, manuals are available online @
Click on the text on the left, the picture links didn't work for me. Follow the long trail, or this may take ya directly there:

Took maybe 5 minutes to download the PDF file,
530 pages, hey I wonder if they did that on purpose?
Just went to save the PDF and it has a non-descriptive name, so if ya save it, ya probably wanna change it to make it easier to find in da future.

Yo Colin
Thanks for the link, I'll check 'em out.
There's still life @ Combi, 'bout the same. How's the lazy B?

looks like graphite is pretty close to quartz in tempco. a better option would be zirconia, but that's probably not too cheap either. re: backing plate breaking or cracking with clamping: you're cutting thin parts, right? how much clamping force do you need???
