Sorry, can't access the FTP, but even if I just draw up a cylinder in CAD and try opening it in X3, I only get half the surfaces of the cylinder, on the other hand, if I open the dwg. in X3 as a solid then I can go to Create/Surface/Create Surface from Solid and get the surfaces like that...My problem is that the geometry in CAD is a Lofted surface or a Mesh and cannot be converted to a solid model (therefore I don't have the option to bring it in to Mastercam as a solid and try to create a surface from that like mentioned above) and Mastercam only imports these as .SAT files and in order to do that I export my CAD surfaces as .SAT and then open them in MasterCam...
X2 does all this with no problems, but X3 doesn't.
I've never done this before but I'll try and post some screen shots of the model tomorrow if I can :-)
Hi,
Dose anybody have trouble importing AutoCad (dwg.)surfaces in X3? Right now the only option for me, is to import as Solids and then convert solids to surfaces inside mastercam...I know it wasn't an issue in X2...Thank you,
If I have a problem and mastercam hangs, and of course hitting Esc. key wont help than
try to do a Ctrl-Alt-Del than go to Task
manager click on Mastercam, than END program...
When END program dialog box comes up hit Cancel
and close the task manager dialog box. All you're left with now
is the small mastercam dialog box that asks if you want to
exit mastercam, just hit NO and you're good to continue from
where you left of...hope this helps
