  1. It has to be my post then. When I do as you describe, my numbers do "gray out" but they keep the values set. But my NC data shows G98 G83 Z-1.5 R.05 Q.5 . I'm at a loss, and the day is almost over..i;m ready today. Thanks for the help.
  2. isn't having top of stock @ -.65 going to rapid to that depth and then start pecking. If so, i cannot do this, because the hole will be drilled previous at the same diameter. I need to feed down approx -.55 and then peck to -1.5 @ .015 peck. I tried using custom drill parameters, but either my post will not allow it to work, or it just plain does not work. I am having a pull my hair out day.
  3. i'll try that. thank you for the help.
  4. I'm not sure if this is confusing to everyone or not. I am trying to use descending peck drill. I need to drill a hole with a short drill, then go back into it with a longer drill (same diameter), I want to do my first peck at -.650 and then go .015 the rest of the way to -1.5 . any help? Thanks
  5. I'll give it a try. Thanks for your help.
  6. I guess my main question is: When I set up each part, am I going to have to set the g54, and then get an x/y location for my rotated part and edit that location each time in the program? To me I thought I would be able to set up my first part(not rotated) and then my second part (g55, rotated) I could still locate off of the same reamed hole that i am using on the other part. Not the g54 hole, but the same hole that is in my part model. If this makes sense.. I just don't quite get it. Thanks for any help
  7. It will not allow me to do the rotation point on the second page, just the start angle. that is if I only have 1 in the steps selection. If I have my first page as Carmen does, it brings up a warning that copy source operations is selected and it will give me identical toolpaths.
  8. Is there a way to use g54 and g55 locations but having the parts in different orientations. I used toolpath transform to do the other side, but this side i cannot have them turned the same time way. any ideas?
  9. cool, thanks. I'm trying to figure out how to bring it in using c-hooks also, but not having much luck yet, but just starting. We'll see how it goes.
  10. As far as I can tell I have Mastercam Art. As long is the tab is there, I have it correct? We never use it here, so I am not familiar with it. But I am having a heck of a time just bringing the photo in. Thanks for any help.
  11. I'll give it a try. Thanks for all the help.
  12. Hi there, I want to import a black and white photo and machine it 3-D. I remember doing something like this in school, but cannot remember how. Any help? Thanks.
  13. I am having trouble with a file that was drawn on Solid works, and opened with mastercam X4. I am having trouble picking the surfaces for toolpaths. when I do it either picks them all, or it says the surfaces are picked but it gives me dirty geometry. just not sure whats going on. Any ideas? Thanks
  14. Toolpath transform was the answer! Thanks John, and everyone else for the help.
