  1. Thank you, gentlemen for your help. For those who have not experienced this problem, let me add: this happens when I continue working with the BACKUP.MCX file (and not on the original file).
  2. This often happens to me: I select every operations (spot drill, drill, tap, contour and so on) in a toolpath group to POST but some of them are not posted. What's happening?
  3. When I start Mastercam X in inch mode and I click: Machine Type -> Mill -> 4-AXIS HMC.MDD I get an error message: "Selected machine doen not have a valid axis combination. The group's machine will not be replaced with this one". As a matter of fact, about 2 months ago I used 4-AXIS HMC MM.MMD in an inch file and it worked perfectly. I don't know if it's me or Mastercam X? For an inch part file I just would like to use the inch machine definition file (4-AXIS HMC.MDD) Thanks
  4. I was playing with the Machine and Control definition and now I don't have M8 and M9 codes in my 3-axis NC programs. We have MCX MR2. Can I call Mastercam and get help? What number can I call? HYPE Manufacturing Corona, CA
  5. Well, in the meantime we have machined the parts and they look good. I programmed the tool tip set the Depth to +0.0625 (half of the cutter diameter) and not ZERO as I always do. The chamfer depth varies slightly, but it was acceptable.
  6. Today I tried to use the 3D chamfer function and when I verified the toolpath it was obvious that the tool (dia. .125 spot drill) went too deep. I set the parameters the same way as I always do for 2D chamfer. I played with the parameters and conluded that I had to set the Depth to +0.0625 (half of the cutter diameter) and not ZERO as I always do. I think this is a bug in the software. Any comment? P.S.: I think I ahd the same problem with MR1 as well. Thanks. HYPE Manufacturing CORONA, CA
  7. Gentlemen, thank you for your reply. I'd like to clarify my question. We are going to put only one part on the tombstone and use only one side of the tombstone. On MastercamX I drew the model with its back "sitting" on the Mastercam origin. My question: Did I do right? Or do I have to take the tombstone phisical dimensions into account and move my model on Mastercam as far away from the Mastercam origin as far it will be from the tombstone rotation axis? In other words: when I create the model, do I have to simulate the actual setup (to take the tombstone physical dimensions into account)? Thanks again for your advice. HYPE Manufacturing CORONA, CA
  8. For the first time I have to program a Horizontal milling machine. My question: Do I have to take the Tombstone's physical dimensions into account when I create the 3D model on MastercamX? HYPE Manufacturing CORONA, CA
  9. When I use the Xform Offset Contour function to offset a 2D NURBS Spline I end up with multi lines instead of a spline. Is there a way to control the output? (We use MR2 Release) HYPE Manufacturing CORONA, CA
  10. How to fix the above mentioned problem? See below: N100 G00 G17 G20 G40 G49 G80 G90 T1 M06 -FACE MILL 3 INCH - G00 G90 G55 X-2.1017 Y-5.1249 S5000 M03 G43 --> H0 <--- Z.25 M08 Z.215 Notice the H0 after G43!!! It's H0 for every Tool!! My Post is a customized 3-axis Haas Post, running -migrated to X- on Mastercam X.
  11. I set fastmode$ to NO$ as a book dated 1997 recommended, but when I post, the postprocessor does not display the first and last postblocks used to calculate each line of the NC code. How to turn ON the DEBUG Switch on Mastercam X? # Debugging and Factory Set Program Switches # ----------------------------------------------- fastmode$ : NO$ #Set to NO for debugging bug1$ : 2 #0=No display, 1=Generic list box, 2=Editor bug2$ : 60 #Append postline labels, non-zero is column position? bug3$ : 0 #Append whatline no. to each NC line? bug4$ : 0 #Append NCI line no. to each NC line? whatno$ : yes$ #Do not perform whatline branches? (leave as yes)
  12. Some of have been suggesting to me to get the DEMO CD V9.1 for FREE. Who knows a Company that gives it to you FREE? (Because I don't know any). I was surprised to read that the DEMO CD can be cracked? Was it just a joke?
  13. I am going to BUY(!) the DEMO CD V9.1 Is is possible to up-date the installed software with SP1 & SP2 Pathces?
  14. What is the latest version of the DEMO CD? Who can offer the best deal?(Company name, telephone number). What is the price? Thanks for your answer.
  15. Is mastercam version 9.0 running well on Windows ME? What's the best operating system for 9.0 & 9.1?
