Thanks, Keith! Sorry to hear there's no easy way. Maybe in Mastercam 10?

It will be a flat (2-D) engraving. I would like it to follow a shape other than just horizontal, verticle or an arc. Can I get it to follow a chain? I can build the geometry, but can't find an easy way to make the words follow that shape.

Is there any way of engraving letters on a contour such as an ellipse? This would be a flat, centerline type engraving like you would see on a trophy plaque.

What we are trying to do now is export geometry to an art type program, such as CorelDraw (or an AI file)...any suggestions? Once again, thanks for your input. This is a great forum for people like us , that are just starting out with Mastercam.

WE DID WHAT CHARLES SAID BUT IT DID NOT WORK !

what CNC told me to do was go to Modify, Break, Spl to arcs...comes out smooth! Thanks for everyone's help

we did that, but it still posts g1, g2, g1 etc. our reseller said that would work on version 8, however, we have version 9. any other ideas?

when milling around an ellipse, i get a whole bunch of flats instead of a smooth surface
