  1. Just a quick "Thank-you" to All for the ideas and assistance...
  2. Jim & Chris... that works, but it takes you way off the edge of the jaw. And I tried extending my lines, but nothing changed. Trevor... I will give that a try. Guys... Thanks for all the ideas.
  3. Hello All... I'm trying to mill out some jaws for our chich vises and want to mill from the outside in. The only tool path that I can create in "MC" plunges and doesn't complete the cut. The mills we have are not able to plunge. How can I force the cut to start outside and work to the inside ??? I'm using the "open pocket" type and have the box for "use open pocket cutting method" checked. Any ideas ??? Thanks.
  4. Bryan, I got it.... Thank-You. At first I thought you were talking about the duplicate tool button on the job set-up page, then I went to run it again and realized what buttons you were referring to within the Ops library. Everything works. This will be a BIG time saver !!! Thank-you to Everyone for your help !!! Kart97
  5. Bryan, All 4 of the borebars are different... Dia. & Length. They all have there own tool number, that's what doesn't make sense... ???
  6. Guys…Thanks for the replies. We have that button unchecked. We use an 8 digit tool numbering system to keep our tools organized. Everything seems to save to the library just fine, it’s when we try to import form the Ops library that it changes all of the tool numbers and all of the rest of the tools info to what ever the first tool in the operation is. In this case I have a group of form tools and boring bars that go to the same hole everytime to put in this pocket, Importing works, but all 4 of the bore bars end up with identical information. They are not like that in my library and I have even tried to create a new library and give the bore bars new tool types cause I thought that might be causing the problem ???? Any thoughts ???? I have tried everything I could think of….
  7. James, I have done all of those steps and that part works just fine, it's when we try to import them into a new .MC9 file that everything gets messed up. All of the similar tool types change to the first tools information. They don’t retain there own information ???
  8. where do you create the ops library ??? within the defaults.df9 ???
  9. James, I have that unchecked. I have all of the others checked except for the one marked "head equals tool number" when you save the ops should they only be saved to the defaults.DF9 file or can you create other files in the OPS folder and rename them ???
  10. Hello... I have a question with the operations group. We have saved a few of our tool paths into operation groups, but when we try to import them back into another file it changes some of our tool numbers. We are using an 8 digit tool numbering system and when we import the operation it duplicates some of the tool numbers on to the existing ones. Thanks for any help...
  11. Guy, That does work, but it doesn't output the G code that we're looking for... I did take notice that if I rotated one of the drafting fonts to 180 degrees then went to the mc9 font the lettering at 180degrees by default. That’s why I wasn’t sure if it just didn’t work with the demo disc. kart97
  12. Guy, That is where I was working and the "Drafting Globals" option is exactly what we are looking for. The problem is that it only works on certian types of text and that's what I need to find out, if it just not available in the demo version. The “Box” style letter outputs in a G02 & G03 format and that’s what we are looking for. Thanks Kart97
  13. Hello, Our company is looking to upgrade to version 9 and I’m currently working with the V9 demo disc. We need the option to rotate our engraving in all directions and I have taken notice that V9 has a “Drafting Globals” dialog box for that purpose. The only thing is when I select the “Box” style text the Drafting Globals window is not available. Does anyone know if this is just not turned on with the demo disc or if there’s a way to change it to be available ???
  14. Hi All, Can anyone tell me if there’s a way to set Mastercam to open at a set window size each time? I’m trying to use a dual monitor set-up and Mastercam takes over both monitors and even after resizing it won’t come back up that way. Any ideas???
  15. Thanks to All, Budgie.... Does the Cimco editor have any macro options ??? Cadcam.... Any idea when that new editoe will be released ???
