  1. Dave- I went thru the books that came with Ver 9 and do not have post documentation. The only book I have is from ver 5.0. I ordered the post CD this afternoon. It will not be coming in for a few days. The old book does not reference "reformating" newfs or nwadrs Can you explain ?
  2. Does anyone know how to do conditional formatting in a Mastercam ver9.0 post ? I am trying to create a post for a 4 axis (rail & side head) lathe. I want to use a misc value to select the axis and output either X/Z or U/W code. (Example 1.Rail 2.Side (mi6) ?) Then in the post I would like to perform a conditional format for xabs and zabs. If mi6=1 fmt N 4 n fmt X 2 xabs fmt X 2 Zabs #FOR X&Z RAIL HEAD . . if mi6=2 fmt N 4 n fmt U 2 xabs fmt W 2 zabs #FOR U & W SIDE HEAD I know that I can make separate posts for each axis, but I only want to manage one post. Any suggestions ?
  3. I have a list of G Codes. The list has 3 columns containing the G code for A, B, & C. In layman's terms what are the differences and why use 1 over the others. We have the choice to use any option for a lathe control.
  4. We just finished the upgrade of our 4 axis Gray (Giddings & Lewis) vertical turret lathe. The original Allen Bradley 7340 control and drives were replaced with a GE Fanuc 21i-TB control and GE drives. This VTL has a "X & Z" rail head and a "U & W" side head. Both the rail and side heads have turrets. The rail & side heads will not be run simultaneously. I originally wrote the Mastercam post for ver 6.0 for the Allen Bradley. I would use this file but there are extreme differences between the AB control & GE Fanuc and also between Mastercam ver6.0 and ver9.0. Does anyone have a Fanuc 21i-TB 4 axis VTL post for Mastercam ver 9.0 or could someone help with the initial file. My copy of Mplfan that came with ver9.0 does not contain a rail and side head option. My ver6.0 post used the Misc integer variable[1] to change axis selection between X/Z and U/W. (Axis Selection 1.Rail 2.Side). Thanks
  5. Does anyone have a 4 axis VTL Fanuc 21i post for Mastercam Ver9 Rail head = X & Z Side Head = U & W I am also interested in a generic 4 axis turning post for a Fanuc Please email it to: [email protected] [ 11-25-2002, 09:37 AM: Message edited by: dem ]
