Thanks for the help and welcome guys, so far getting into cnc has been a great decision! I'm using MasterCAM X3. I haven't tried drawing it in mastercam because I had already done it in Illustrator copying it from an image.
Hockey Guy, I don't see where to attach the file, do I just send it straight to you? That would be awesome!
hello all,
I'm new to cnc, and am trying mill a specific shape I've drawn out in adobe Illustrator. it is a closed shape, and i've saved it as a dxf. I can open it in Mastercam, but I'm trying to extrude it (it needs to be .5" Z, attached to a .5" Z block), but I get an error saying "invalid knot function". is there anyway around this? I've also tried extruding through the surface menu, but once i chain it creates a spline approximation and completely alters the shape of the graphic. How can i do this?
Thanks!
Edwin
