  1. Ok, last question, then I'll be fine...How do I turn off the limit switch? where is it or better yet, what is it? There are no other physical buttons on the machine other than the main power and the red emergency shut off. I'm trying to run a program, or even just jog and it tells me to please move the machine off the limit switch. Also, on the display it shows a 2, which tells me that the switch is on. ncd

I finally got our CNC conversing with Mastercam 8.1 on our old 95 box. However, it uses the Techno GCODE interface v2.46, which appears to run ncd files. I can't seem to figure out how to convert my file into that format, or can I at all? I can get it to nc and nci, but ncd has me puzzled. Any suggestions?
  3. I am using Mastercam V9 and am trying to get it to communicate with our DaVinci Techno isel CNC connected via serial cable. I have created the .nc file and now have to get it to send to the machine. Theoretically, shouldn’t I only have to go to the communications screen and hit send and jump through the hoops that it provides? If that is true, I have done that. The dos screen comes up and says that it is transmitting mcomm.dat and then to hit enter to continue and then takes me back to the communications screen. Is this even the correct way to send it to the CNC? Shouldn’t it just take it from there and begin cutting?
  4. I have taken on Mastercam and the CNC as my high school material science project for this term. I have the books for the MC9 mill and lathe, but I can't find anything about how it communicates with the CNC. Are there tests I can do to tell whether or not they are communicating, and how do I send a file to it to be cut? Thank you. [email protected]
