  1. The machine will probably alarm out probably after 360 degrees, but my main concern was drawing the arc. Since both methods work, I was wondering which method is "correct".
  2. Couple of questions. On a machine is it possible for arc to move from 180 degrees to 450 degrees ? Also when drawing that arc in a CAD/CAM software would you recommend enter the start angle of 180 degrees and an end angle of 450degrees, or would you use angles from 0 to 360 degrees.
  3. Hello, I'm creating a Toolpath that is a spiral with the pitch of 0.1. If tool diameter is larger than the spiral pitch then mastercam is not generating toolpath that follows geometry. How can I follow spiral with the tool diameter larger than a spiral pitch with tool compensation on? As I see that tool follows spiral if spiral pitch is larger than tool diameter or if tool comp is off
  4. thanks... just wondering... so I guess the only way to do this is to create multiple new views ( new top views) and on the machine make multiple setups ( one for each face).
  5. I am machining different sides of a cube and using the generic mpfan post. The cube is gonna be programmed on a 3 axis vertical machine. Is it possible to get a G17,G18,G19 output when machining the different faces.
  6. found the answer... just had to read the help file
  7. Hello, I'm using X5 and for some reason in my thin wall parameters for the pocket operation I am unable to change the values for my "Max calculated finish step" and "max rough stepdown from depth cuts" ( they are greyed out and set to 0). Is there a way to turn them on, and have them changed ? Thanks in advance
  8. Thanks, I did not have filter on. Now another issue with the same tap. In my X5 install, the 3/8-16tap is defined as a General Turning and not as a Drill/Tap/Reamer. Does anyone else have the same issue ?
  9. Is the 3/8-16 Tap missing in the tool library for X5 lathe ? I only see the 3/8-24 Tap that is available..
  10. Don't have a machine.. I'm just a student trying to understand how the actual application works. What would be the difference between the manual or automatic presseter for the tool length offset ?
  11. How about on the machine ? Do I measure the length offset of the tool I am going to use for the caxis toolpath from Z0, like normal, or is it something different ?
  12. I'm talking about both. Thanks for the quick reply
  13. Another question if I may ask. When you using the caxis how do you measure the tool offset of that specific tool ?
