  1. Hah had 3 different posts to comare and check them out. Found I was looking though a good post for the opther machine that actualy works. Anyhow pulled the right post up and found a tlngno with no asterix. So woop got the g43 line fixed. Thanks very much. Now I just need to 'not' stage the tool that is already in the head and ill be a happy o/t user no pun intended. Jim
  2. Thanks tad, I did do a search for g43 through out the post, looking for a descrepency. Jim
  3. quote: Madbub ! Being a p**ck I can say only this : I did apologize in the other thread for saying that. Ill say it again if it make you happy. I am sorry for lashing out and calling you a xxxx. but if you want to keep hanging it over my head that is your perogative. JIm
  4. Millman, are you saying to swap out those sections? replace all of psof and ptlchg? Jim

  6. Millman Ill try to respond tonight, not ignoring your post. Winnie I didnt say I dont read the ot. I actualy enjoy them. It is actualy kinda refreshing to see people with the same thought process about politics or what ever. I merely suggest a seperate forum :/ But I myself do not necesarily have time to read through them all. Anyhow, when reading my post you have to imagine me smiling. or people might seem to think I am just bitter and angry, which I am not. Jim
  7. Here are the settings, and posted what comes out. ptlchg #Tool change pcuttype toolchng = one if mi1 = one, #Work coordinate system [ pfbld, *sg28ref, "X0.", "Y0.", e pfbld, "G92", *xh, *yh, *zh, e ] pbld, "M01", e pbld, "G94", e pbld, "G09", e pcom_moveb c_mmlt #Multiple tool subprogram call ptoolcomment comment pcan pbld, *t, e pbld, "M98P7006", e pindex sav_absinc = absinc if mi1 > one, absinc = zero pcan1, pbld, *sgcode, *sgabsinc, pwcs, pfxout, pfyout, *speed, *spindle, pgear, strcantext, e pbld, "G43", *tlngno, pfzout, scoolant, next_tool, e absinc = sav_absinc pcom_movea toolchng = zero pbld, "M08", e c_msng #Single tool subprogram call stagetool : 1 #0 = Do not pre-stage tools, 1 = Stage tools G00 G17 G40 G49 G80 G91 M98P7180 ( ) ( **G57 B180. 1/2 EM ) G90 N102 T2 M106 T2 G0 G90 G57 X.0686 Y-20.1328 S10000 M3 G43 Z1. 8. *tlngno is at every g43 line :/ Maybe I am in wrong section. This mainly happens when I do a forced tool change, Ill do a force tool change so i can add a manual entry for a pallet rotation. I dont know if that helps. Jim
  9. Have a long standing problem, That I just usualy edit by hand. If some dont want to help me, I understand Anyhow, this is for our enshu je-60, with yasnac i-80 control. every machine has its quirks, well this one has always had a quirk that gets annoying. If you say t2 is in the spindle, and you try to stage t2. It will alarm out the machine. Which is annoying since it should be able to. The matssura es-450 does this fine. So anyhow was curious. Is it possible to have the post to check its self for the same tool, and not stage t2 if t2 was already called up? This becomes a problem when I am dancing around a pallet. and want to recalls its tool on a new plane. secondary problem At g43 on a plane switch, It will not call up its tool offset number. Just spitting out g43 z.1 instead of g43 h2 z.1 So starting in the middle of programs can be tiresome. So is their a way to force height offset everytime? I kinda neat to switch one problem for one and the other to the other It is a old mpfan post that I have modified to fit m needs. But never found out how to do these 2 problems. Jim
  10. quote: It's called competition. It's good that you're staying with 8, and not on the Maint, because you're making your parts more expensive than I am, which means I'm prolly the guy that underbid you and got that $30,000.00 order. I kinda doubt it. I am still very efficient in mcam8. 99% of jobs are broken down into 3 ways of programming. Pocket, drill, and contour. Unless I missed something reading and playing with my friends shops version of mcam9, I did not see anything that would of made me that much slower. If anything I found the wcs system kinda annoying. It kept forcing wrong views on me, which just irritated me instead of speeding me up. Thing is, I can still do any job with mcam8. Why I love mastercam. I can do anything with it. Now I am not saying their was not a few glitches that they fixed in mcam9 that could of helped to. I just couldnt justify the costs to upgrade it. One thing I have to comment. Being I started my company oct 1997 right at the worse time possible. And outlived 8 other shops in my court. And in that time grew to 3 horizontals, 3 verticals, 1 2 axis lathe, and 1 8 axis lathe. I doubt I have been underbid or lost jobs due to running mcam 8. If they fixed one certain thing about mastercam. I would most likely purchase the new version. And the one thing is to be able to move a solid, or rotate it. With out owning solids on a computer I would purchase it. I design alot of my own parts on mastercam solids. And find it so annoying I have to convert to a iges file, So the 2 other workstations we have can translate and move geo into the right spot. I dont have a need to purchase 3 seats of solids. I only need one seat. Jim
  11. I am one who will hold out, I need to see something to show me it will increase productivity. I am still running 8 for that reason. I did not see a big enough jump to get on the version 9 bandwagon. And also with reading about the problems people have had with the maintenance releases. I guess I would rather not have unexpected problems that could throw a wrench into your day. And just stick with what is tried and true. I am hoping I see enough improvements to want to hop onto 10. As for maintenance. I see every large corporation trying to become a utility these days. And that bugs me. Every one is trying to nit pick your profits to death. What happened to selling a product at a price you feel comfortable with. Jim
  12. If you are having problems with the low gear on the fadal, I would check the hoses to the hydraulics that change belts on the head. They do tend to leak and get sticky. Order a new part and replace it. Easy swap out. We normaly have to order those parts every 3-4 years on our fadals. JIm
  13. quote: Well May I ask what the f?ck is your problem calling the pooh a xxxx. I know I was harsh for saying xxxx. I will apologize on that. I could of expressed myself alot better. and I didnt and i am sorry. quote: Get the hell over yourself you hate this place so much don't come here last timed I checked was a free country. I never said I hated this place. Was just thinking of ways tomake it even better and more useful. quote: I would hate to think your boss stands over your shoulder making you come here all the time. I am glad to say I am my own boss. quote: I went back through your last 50 posting and looks like ths place gave you some good help also looks like you had some O/T's yourself. Well in my defense their was no other thread to ask any off topic question. And in most cases it was related to mcam. Cfd, I was asking for a way to use mastercam made solids and run computational fluid dynamics on them. Quuadro settings, was related to mcam. Wasnt getting the results I felt I should be getting. Stil am not. :/ quote: just like the can of worms opened open 50 times before. I would suggest you go to a military base and ask them about the War in Iraq I just winder how many times that has been brought up I bet you might not like the overall response you get from them. How am I suppose to know someone has asked about off topic 50 times? Not everyone visits everyday. Wish I could alot of valuable resources in here. And good off topic conversation. That is why I felt suggesting another forum. It is not uncalled for to suggest this, why is everyone busting my balls so badly for even implying it? Right on the main page instead of mastercam, can add gerneral conversation or something. I dont think this question was uncalled for. quote: Oh yeah see that is my email and my web site there and if one here could be warey about the email and idenity being up should be me but I still keep helping and still like this community.I dont understand what your point was on this. Anyhow I will wither away. I am in the minority, I just asked the question sorry for getting people worked up about o/t Jim
  14. quote: Geez, the only one that didn't flame this jackass AND offers to help him, and he thanks him by calling him a xxxx! I see a future of lots of help for this guy. Way to make friends buddy. No he didnt genuinly offer his help, he was making a snide remark. Like he has in everyone of his posts on this thread. His posts on this subject have offered no help nor politeness to them. So why should I treat winnie with respect when he offers none of that to myself. Hell look at his next thread. quote: who feels himself a hero and tough guy ,really ,start to speak like an average human male after a bottle of vodka . Wow that was constructive to this thread. Who said I was being a hero, And tough guy? For what calling you on your snide attacks? I did not start this thread bashing anyone. I did not start this thread belittling anyone. I asked a general question and a idea on how I felt would better the forum. Ok so I am in the minority. That is all that had to be said. Not personal attacks against myself. Heaven forbid you offer a idea.
  15. wow, suggest a simple question to make a great forum for answers to mastercam to make it even better, And get blasted. Anger management? I am not the one blasting anyone, just pointing out the majority of questions or topics are not even relavant to this forum. So hence I suggested another forum for general speak. To keep this forum as valuable as it can be, instead of being inundated with ot subjects. quote: Madbub ! Ask your Mastercam specific questions and I will be happy to help you . Do you have some ? What is wrong winnie, I cant make a o/t question or topic? Do you ask that same question in every off topic thread, didnt think so. So why are you being a xxxx..
  16. quote: oh, BTW...nice O/T threadWell if their was another forum to post about this I would of.
  17. Pretty typical of this forum, anyone who speaks against the majority, just get bashed and yelled at. Besides where did I say any topic got ignored? I am just pointing out that the mastercam forum probaly has less threads on mastercam and more on stuff that is unrelated.
  18. Am I the only one who thinks the off topic subjects are getting excessive? I would say 50 percent of the threads have any relavent mastercam information. Was just curious why they dont make another forum for general threads. Allowing this one to focus on what it should be, Mastercam. Anyhow I am not bitching or anything. I come here to get information, learn what is new. But all I see lately is anything other than mastercam. JIm
  19. If you make a part in mastercam, and use the new solidworks to mastercam add in thingy. Then make a print in solidworks. Then remodify the part in mastercam. will solidworks modify the print?
  20. Tried both, system still is not running like a hotrod like it should be :/ Jim
  21. Atm I have a dual xeon 2.8, 2 gig of ram, with a quadro fx1000 from pny ( http://www.pny.com/products/quadro/fx/1000fx.asp ) But my dynamic rotations on not so hard geomtry seems to be sluggish. And I can not figure it out. Yet on the computer next to me, with a 2.4 gig chip with 1 gig of ram and a pny 750 xgl runs so much better then this one. This is on winxp pro, the other on win2k. Both systems on mastercam 8.1 I am hoping there is a setting to turn up the graphics card that I am missing. Anyone have any ideas as to what settings to change to get a boost out of this system. I tried there stock solidworks settings on the nvdia manager. someone mentioned this on the forums along time ago. But still not the performance I should have. Jim
  22. I normaly have mine set for 15 minutes. But the problem can be duplicated when I zoom in and zoom out. Or if the computer idles for long period of time. The computer seems to hang for the 5 seconds waiting to write the nci. Jim
  23. I notice this on large files. Say I refit the screen after zooming in. Sometimes the refit takes extra long to process and refit. But I dont think it is the redrawing of the graphics. It even says sometimes on the bottom save: then it will come up saving nci. I have all nci files saved to the local computer to speed that up. But is their a way to turn off saving nci? Or something so it is not trying to save and stop my machine so much. Jim
  24. http://www.tebis.com/tebis_neu/index.php3 Well dont let this go wrong. I am a hardcore mastercam user. I have always loved the software, and still think it is the best for machining in most applications. But I was challenged by a new engineer that I have been lucky enough to be introduced to. After some ********ting one night (out for beers) he says you know, if you have any projects you need sped up tell me and Ill help you. I was very skeptical, since I have heard this before over and over. So I say sure ill give you a try. and I load up one of my involved 3d files. and that guy within a hour had a program that was = to or better than mine in under a hour. One that took me 1 week to get just right. It wasnt that his system is better. He might of just got lucky. But it did have some options in it that I was wishing mastercam had. Alot of the functions where just natural, not c hooks and add on options. Like 3ding a piece of extrusion. once you did the profile the computer would automaticaly dodge air to keep the cut moving. Yea you can do this a little in mastercam. But not with the ease he did it. The back plot function was awesome. After every toolpath, you could easily just click it and it would show you what was machined. Again we can do this n mastercam. In verify and other functions. But this system kinda drew it up as a 3d model instantly on the fly. I was really impressed with some of these features. Anyhow I posted the link so maybe some of the mastercam haunchos can get some of those features for us 8) Jim
