  1. RUNNING x2&X4, PROBLEM I AM HAVING (INTERMITTENTLY) IS CONSTANTLY HAVING TO REGEN ALL TOOLPATHS WHEN I CHANGE PLANE VIEW E.G. I HAVE 20 TOOLPATHS ALREADY DONE- USING SAY 2 PLANES WHEN I CHANGE PLANE VIEW ALL TOOLPATHS I HAVE ALREADY DONE HAVE RED CROSS THROUGH AND NEED REGEN- IT DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME AND I AM STRUGGLING TO UNDERSTAND WHY IT DOES THIS- IF I HAVE TO VIEW SIMULATION- I HAVE TO WAIT EACH TIME- VERY FRUSTRATING-ANY IDEAS???
  2. thanks- that seems to make sense- i can't try it yet- but i was definitely selecting solid surfaces first
  3. its mill3 - will try again on monday- thanks
  4. i work mostly with solids rather than surfaces, using x4 if i fill holes on a solid face with surfaces- i am unable to use them as drive surfaces on parallel surface toolpaths- i.e. i can still only use the solid surface-is there a solution to this??- to clarify- i want to use fill holes feature and then use the filled hole as part of the toolpath to keep toolpath smooth-??
  5. I haven't used this toolpath yet (Surface Project), but as we have a regular component thet requires engraving on a curved surface i thought i might give it a go. I usually project letters onto a surface and then produce engraving program from that. Can anyone tell me why using Surface Project may or may not be a better option than this, i.e. should i stick to my method or not?- thanks.
  6. My tools (in library) are set to turn coolant on- however this seems to be overwritten in the toolpaths ( i.e. 'coolant' within the toolpath menu) can i set defaults so all coolant is selected from the tool instead of the toolpath- running x4- thanks
  7. i am using mcx x4. I wish to machine a fillet rad on top of a rectangular 'box' using a ballnose cutter. i am using surface flowline toolpath. I want to have 1 continuous toolpath starting at the top and remaining in contact with the fillet rad until the bottom before retracting. The best i can get by adjusting direction and gap settings is still leaving a few linear lines at the start of toolpath which 'jump' acoss the component. I dont have this problem on spherical rads using flowline- should i use a different toolpath or can i adjust flowline to suit- sorry i cant attach file- thanks
