Hi everyone,
I am running the attatched file using X5 MU1 mill lvl 3. Right now it works but could be better. I would like everything to run off of one offset, instead of the 21 it currently is. Is this possible? I tried a few different ways under the planes is here something else?
Thanks for any and all help

Hi Everyone,
I just recieved a number of new tool holder 3d models from sandvik for our vertical lathes. For the life of me I can not figure out how to put them into the sandvik tool holder library's. I know it's something simple I'm missing. Anyone know what it is???
Thanks!!!

What is the machine doing? I just ran into a very similar problem with a mori when i was engraving on the face.
-
What did you figure out?
Sorry, didnt see you had added anything else. When you program a lathe toolpath it asks for a point OR where to start the contour. If you select the point, contour, and point again it seems to work great.
Again sorry for the delayed reaction, thanks for the help.

I just got a new post for my OKK with a mitsubishi control. I am using X5 mill lvl 3 and trying to get my comp working the operators way. which is by using the tools radius for cutter comp. i am using wear and have the tools radius in the offset page on the machine. what am I missing?

Thanks, looks good. If my machine plows into the part I'll let ya know

did that come out looking right to you? i only end up with half the engraving

Hi everyone, I am trying to engrave a shaft with mastercam x5 lathe lvl 1 on the c-axis. I have looked though all the forums and can't find anything close to this. when i put a path to it and verify it tries to cut the part off instead of staying on top and engraving. I had this problem on the faces but corrected it by playing with the planes. I will attach a file of the problem shaft. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

looks like comment$ puts your manual entry's into the post. Its taking the comment from my first toolpath too. Is there any way to break that up?
-
This may be a stupid question, or may not. I use cimco to send my programs to the machines. cimco is setup to look for certain things in the post. I am wondering if its possible to get notes from a manual entry into the header. And also if there is an abbreviation for the file the mastercam file comes from.
in this example i would like it to read the eagle part...
S:\MCX\MCAM LATHE\EAGLE\EC001254REV1.MCX-5
I have tried many combinations and it seems i can get everything but just the file name. I can get it, but with many other things that are not wanted. I pretty much have it setup how i want, but the manual entry posts out with the first tool. I can't figure out which abbreviation is to read that part of my program.

That should work. Thanks alot.

would it be possible to break that up? say g53 x0 on one line and g53 z0 on another?

Good morning everyone. I'd like to change my post from g28 home position to g53. This change would be for a mori-seiki lathe with a Generic Fanuc 4X MT_Lathe post. Any ideas where to start???
-
I think I figured something out. Thanks for your time.
-
I guess either hardcode or if you can explain tied to misc integer that may be an option. I need it for every toolpath so i'd rather not have to draw points. I do not know how to use the post debugger, in fact never heard of it.
-
Just changed all 4. same results. I take its not possible to add those locations to the post?
-
That seems to work about half the time. I just changes it and it works for my live tooling operations not the turnings ops though
-
yes, and yes. both work to some extent. I'd rather not have to program a rapid point everytime i use this machine. The post is only used for the one machine and the machine runs a variety of the same parts. so the best way i can see is just add it to the post. I pretty much need it going there for every tool.

I am running a mori seiki lathe using mastercam x5. I'm not sure what the original version is but I'd like to put a start and end rapid point in at the beginning and end of the toolpath so i can clear my tailstock. I have tried every combination of possiblities that i know of. I'd like a normal face cycle to look like this:
(ROUGH FACE)
G54
N1 T0606
G99
M46
G97 S223 M03
G0 X20. Z4. *******
G0 X3.4272 Z.0807 M8
G50 S3600
G96 S200
G1 X3.2857 Z.01 F.01
X-.2468
Z.11
G0 Z.16
G0 X20. Z4.*****
M9
G28 U0. W0.
M05
M01
Is this possible?
