  1. Tangent doesn't work inside or outside nomatter what size lead in i have. Pretty much just plunges on and off the part. I haven't ever had this problem before either. Just started at a new shop and I'm starting to think the previous programmer made some changes before he left.
  2. it has been unchecked, tried with and without...
  3. I am using mastercam x5 mill lvl 3 and anytime i try to use lead in/out on tangent it doesnt work. It works on perpendicular but not on tangent. Has anyone ran into this before?
  4. not a problem. I prolly should have said it was for live tooling. Thank you, that was it. Any ideas on the feed to rapid issue?

  6. I am running a mori seiki sl403 lathe with mastercam x5 lathe 1. Right now I have to move the g97 s600 m13 line above the first rapid move everytime it posts or I get alarms at the machine. I would like to change that. Here is an example of how it is now and Where I would like to be. now (TOOL - 7 OFFSET - 7) ( 1/2" X 90 DEG SPOTDRILL) P3000 (SPOT 3/8"-16) G54 N1 T0707 G98 M45 M69 G0 C-90. -G0 X2.25 Z.1 M8- -G97 S600 M13- G83 Z-.215 R0. Z.1 M9 M69 G28 U0. W0. C-0. M05 M01 Where would I look to change this? Also with this same post my rapid moves are feed moves of 500. I would like to see them come out as rapid moves. Is this something in the post or machine def?
  7. Honestly im not real sure. I just started at a new company and their system is a complete mess. Just thought if i started over getting new posts it would be faster then trying to edit and prove every post. We have just about every machine made so it looks like i have my work cut out for me. Between support at mastercam and this great site I think I'll be ok. Thanks for the offer, I'm sure you'll be seeing lots of questions on the forum.
  8. thank you. looks like our friends at mastercam have some fun ahead of them.
  9. I am wondering if it's possible to ask for posts on here. From what I see it's more advise. Being new to the forum i'd hate to get kicked off my second day on.
  10. yup, it was the restart that was kicking my butt. thanks guys. always the things you overlook
  11. ok if it's that simple, which i thought it was i must have installed it in the wrong place. where should it be?
  12. I know this is a dumb question but i cant remember how to do it. I am trying to get the X + setup sheet working on X5. I've done it in the past for X3 but cant remember how to get the tool bar loaded in. Please help!!! I dont have much hair left to lose.
  13. ok, problem solved. i had to put it under C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared mcamx5\my mcamx5\mcx. not sure how that works but it did. thanks for the help.
  14. the insert.tbl file is in there. i didnt have to put it in there but its still giving me the error???
  15. sorry. im using x5 mill 3 for now, i guess we are waiting for the x6 disks to show up
  16. i just started with a new company, when i jumped on the computer and opened up mastercam i got this error: error opening insert.tbl does anyone know why or how to fix it?
