  2. Wow Mike eek.gif you been taking my advanced instructional cd course on how to be a Pr!c*??

Mr. brick,in all fairness, you have come to a really great place to get help, the amount of knowledge here is unbelievable!

I think if you would ask for spacific help on tweeking your post, you will find what you are looking for.

Even if someone was willing to just give you one ,it may not still be to your liking. Why not just change everything yourself with a little help from the great people here.

This is a community of very nice people who are just dying to help out a fellow cammer, but just joining and asking out loud for it will most likely get you no where.

Welcome to the forum and please stick around. cheers.gif

  3. The only time I had a Z dive down on me was cause I had to cancel out (H00) the height offset, but I certainly dont think this is your issue.

On some of the older fanuc controls, you had to hold the manual spindle stop button and jog the Z at the same time just to get it to move.

  4. Thanks for the replys. The guy who was saying this is one of the 'Know it alls' and biggest bitch in the shop, but cannot program a simple linear cut never mind a tap cycle!

I just hate having to listen to idiots, that's why I count on you guys for real world answers.

The sad part about this is that I could print out this thread and tell him to read it and he still wouldnt believe it never mind listen....

Guess that's why he still runs a machine and I dont! eek.gif

  5. Ok,I will not ever claim to know everything in this trade, but I would like to know how you guys do it.

On my cnc verticals,I use one of those tension/compression holders.

Now I always select an RPM,and let Mastercam calculate the feed based on the tap thread I'm using.

One of the guys in the shop is saying that you should always reduce the feed rate by 10 percent.

Is this a true statement? Is this what you guys do?

I have always seemed to have no trouble doing just as I said by letting mastercam figure it out,or by just selecting an RPM and dividing by TPI

    thanks,

  6. I was told by QC mastercam that the backplot verify function in X would be a resolved in SP1

    It is not.

The stock only updates if you stop the 'run button'

Sorry but this is still an ongoing issue.

One would think that they could do better than that!!

The people who supposedly 'fixed' this problem, did they ever see how nice it worked in V9???? banghead.gif

    It still flickers too
