  1. Hey all, I am using Mastercam X6 and I keep having the same problem with my stock. I will go through and set my stock, show it on the screen to make sure its in the right place. But if I change it and then go to simulate my program, the simulated stock won't change. I tried repaint and regenerate but the stock still won't move. An example from today is that my stock was a cylinder that was .999 in diameter and 9.75 long. Initially, I had made it so that my stock was centered on the X axis. I later tried to change it so that the top of my stock touched the x axis. When I went to simulate, my stock was still centered around the X axis. I can't get a good look at my program if my stock isn't in the correct place when I simulate. I also tried exiting mastercam and coming back but it doesn't help. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks, Crev64
  2. Hey all, I am using Mastercam X6 and I keep encountering the same problem with the stock, particularly when the shape is a cylinder. I am trying to make my stock cylinder shaped, along the Y axis and centered in the Y axis. The problem is that I want my Z Zero to be the top of cylinder, and I can place that in and even the stock wireframe shows it in the correct position, but when I actually go to verify, the stock is centered on the Z axis. I can't get it to show the stock where I actually want it to be. Any suggestions? Thanks, Crev64
  3. Hey all, I'm looking for a post processor to use with Mastercam X6 for my Prototrak Sport with SMX controller. Does anyone know where I can find this? Crev64
  4. I have a problem that's probably easily solved by anyone with any knowledge of how to use Mastercam. I have a part that I get from a customer. It is imported into Autodesk Inventor and I then place the part into a solid block in Inventor. The purpose is that I want to build a nest for this part. Inventor allows me to place it exactly how I want it in the nest. Now I need to take the block and cut out the shape of the part so that it sits in the block. I am not sure how to go about this. Do I bring in the part to Mastercam and try to imprint the surface of the part into my block? Or is that done in Inventor and only bring in the surfaces to Mastercam? Is there a tutorial of some sort that can help me understand how to accomplish this? Thanks
  5. I tried Change Recognition. It keeps the same toolpath and doesn't change along with the change in geometry of the part. I also tried exporting my operations. The problem is that when I import them into the new part, it doesn't have any geometry at all. I also tried to option to save geometry when I exported and imported but it just keeps the same toolpath as the original part. I just want to be able to basically have a template with all my operations and when I bring the new part in, it recognizes and changes the toolpath to the new slight change in part.
  6. Hey All, I'm new to mastercam. I have a series of parts that I have to machine quite often. All the parts are almost identical. There may only be a small change in a few dimension. I draw them in Autodesk Inventor and import them into mastercam. The tools and operations are the same for every part. Is there anyway I can keep the tools and operations but change the part without having to redo the whole thing? Thanks
