  1. No I'm talking a lot. It's giving me approx. a 7/16 rad. And If I change it to a .260 rad it cuts it .260 bang on the cash! I'm going to try CadCam's suggestion and turn roll around corners off. I hope this works, cause if not I'm going to have to add a lot of tool changes to my programs or re-draw all my geometry. I even tried lying to MasterCam and telling it the cutter was only .497 and it still didn't work until I changed the rad. to .260. This is why it sounds like a tolerance thing to me. Because even at .259 it didn't work but as soon as I went to .260 it worked great????????
  2. OKAY! Thanks CadCam I'll give it a shot. Thanks to everyone else for the help too!
  3. I'm trying to avoid using a smaller e-mill. 1/2" is the standard cutter we use on our machine for profile finishing. I just checked in the parameters and I had corners set to SHARP do you think if I change it to NONE that will work????
  4. x,y stock to leave is 0.00, cutter comp is on computer. This is why I'm wondering if there is a tolerance on what size radius a cutter can cut with cutter comp on??
  5. "There are no stupid questions, just stupid Managers" The endmill is brandnew out of the box. Everything else was cut fine it was only the 1/4" radius that wouldn't come out right. I thought it might be the control just going too fast into the corner and rounding it out but our supplier assures us that the High-speed cornering software we have installed would slow down way ahead of time to take the corner.????????
  6. Hello All, I was cutting some mating puzzled pieces of plastic with a 1/2" endmill and when I took them off the router the radii didn't mate properly. It had 2 1/4" radii that were rounded out. The only way I could get them to mate properly was to change the radius to .260. We are new to Mastercam and we never had this problem with our old CAM software. Can anyone tell me if there is a tolerance in Mastercam that I can change to alleviate this problem? or is this a post or control issue? Thanks in advance!!
  7. Well CadCam, What can I say after 3 days of messing around with this problem you solved it for me in 5 seconds. Sometimes things are so simple you can't see them staring you in the face. Thanks to everyone for their help. I had the profile set to custom and as soon as I changed it to Auto it worked like a charm. Thanks again to all of you guys!
  8. It must be video card related. When I take off TrueSolid mode the tool and path show up fine. Thanks for the help guys!!
  9. I've checked everything and it all checks out ok, so I'm just gonna assume it's related to the video card for now. Waiting to here back from MasterCam. Thanks for the help guys!
  10. My material is set-up and all the other operations show-up. I'm milling the slot 1/8" deep in 1/2" mat'l. Everything seems to check out all right. The facemilling shows up when I backplot just not in the 'Verify' mode!...Could this be a video card problem???
  11. Hey All, I'm having trouble viewing a facemilling operation with 'Verify' viewer. I know the operation is taking place but it doesn't show up when I preview the program. I'm flycutting a 2.5" path on a sheet of plastic on a Router program. Any ideas would be appreciated.
  12. Thanks MachineMasterG I searched and there was some discusion on here about this in the past. The only problem we have with HSS endmills is that the edge doesn't last very long. Carbide sacrifices a little on the surface finish but the cutters last a lot longer.
  13. Hey Rob, I cut delrin, and pvc too but with those materials we've been using about 15000rpm and feeds about 150 to 225ipm. Mostly because of restrictions on our 'ancient' machine. I'm hoping to get things sped up quite a bit with our new machine. What are you using for cutters. We use 1/2" carbide endmills 2-flute with standard helix. Surface finish is pretty important?
  14. Sorry, sent it twice. Not trying to emphasize it or anything just got tied up.
  15. Hello All, I was wondering if anyone out there has any experience cutting UHMW,Poly-propelyne or Nylon sheet plastic. I have for a while and I wanted to know what kind of feeds and speeds others are using??
