  1. I have a part that has two operations done to it. The stock is rectangular and it is on its side for the first operation where a contour is milled on one side. The part is then rotated 90 degrees so that the contoured side is now pointing up in the z direction. Next, I need to mill in two slots and have them go to the depth of the contour previously milled. The rest mill toolpaths I keep using are not going all the way to the bottom (and they are cutting a lot of air at that). I've set up two WCSs for the two operations, a G54 and a G55 once the part is flipped. I'm stuck as how to get these two slots milled correctly. Please see attached file. Thanks. 2. Hockey Guy thanks for the reply the 2d contouring worked. I feel stupid all I had to do was use a partial chain. I guess you learn something every day.
  3. I am trying to create a toolpath for a simple side profile and I can't figure out why this is so difficult. I don't know if I'm choosing the wrong toolpath and/or selecting my points incorrectly. I am new to mastercam and I'm using x6. The part will be held with the jaws above and below. the part will overhang to the left of the vise so the whole side profile can be milled. Should I be selecting edges, surfaces, the whole solid? Please help. Thanks.
