  1. I just started a job 2 weeks ago in a place that uses Visual Mill, they have a 4 axis router thats used to make plugs for molds. Anyway I was trying to find out why there were no programs with the 4 axis being used. Come to find out the last guy that woked there before me BS'ed the owner and told him everything was fine. It turns out that Visual Mill does not even do full 4 axis work like I wanted to do. I am trying to get Mastercam in the house to take over our C axis work, withme having about 8-9 years of Mastercam exp, It would be better. I havent seen much of the new 4axis feature can anyone enlighten me on MC's 4 axis © cutting, I am looking for for Full 4 axis feaures not indexing. Thanks.
  2. Yes guys, I going to accept a position with a smaller company with their own product, a very successful product I may add. I feel I will be more appreciated and will fell more at home in a place like that. And yes he is will to pay well and give me god benefits. Thanks
  3. These are a little hokey but simple.
  4. Well we are straying away from the topic a bit, but thats ok. I agree employers would rather pay $12 p/h for a unskilled worker and get crap, probably late everyday, or otherwise unreliable. I was very happy working when I knew I was getting paid what I was worth. Some of the people may have thought otherwise (I made more than my boss lol) but still I turned out alot of work, sometimes working 6-7 days a week. Unfortunetly that 6 figure job dried up (airline industry) I would consider working for less, for a company thank I could possibly being a part of the business, maybe buying in or becoming a partner. My family and I ran a small aerospace jobshop from the time I was 10 until I was 26, I ran it for the last 4 years of business, So I know what it takes to do it. I dont think I should waste 20+ years in the business. ok enough ranting
  5. So true I see so many jobs listed asking for 4 year degrees and wanting to pay Wal-Mart wages. Just yesterday a head hunter called me for a position in CT, he asked what rate i was looking for, when I told him what I was making in San Antonio he almost passed out, why should I take a job bust my xxxx and not get paid accordingly. I say a employee that is not worrying about his bills day and night will be a better worker. But I am not sure which idiot is setting these crazy low rates.
  6. Alot of very true, comments, I was in manufacturing for most of my life programming since I was 13, I think that the dealing with the dreggs of society is true in alot of respects, I made very good money consulting in Texas, but I think its drying up or has dried up. I am at the same stage in the IT field now, I had to deal with alot of drunk, ex- drunk, ex- drug addicts that these companies were taking on as cnc machinists, that ws not fun. I do have 20 years of skills behind me, but Im still in indecision.
  7. I have been out of the programming field for a few years now, I have been working in the IT sector, but lately have ben getting some offers to return. Has anyone gone thru this before?
