  1. ive been using a .008 gap on my japax LMD100 and mits 200HA. I just replaced the contacts and adjusted the contact screw tension; not running to bad! Im curious what speed should i expect with 6" alum.
  2. Im a new user to the japax, trying to wire 6" thick aluminum and breaking wire like crazy. Ive tried "compeed" steel cored wire and it cut down on breaks by %50. But my max feed rate is only .03 in/min. Is there any parameter settings i should try. I start with: on-10, off-15, Ip-8, V-5, F-.02, OC-0, then first increase V-8, if no break i turn on the OC-1, up the feed to .03 and it goes for about 15-30 mins then breaks. there might be some problem with either the power supply or some flushing pressure variance. I welcome any japax users to reply.
  3. I have a problem inporting a Solid works file. It's a psudo-ellipticle concave bowl. When I open it with MC the surface (I don't have Solids) has a bad wrinkle in it. I can recreate it with a swept surface of 1/4 of it then mirror it twice but I've been told I have to use the original file. Any ideas as to whats causing this and how do I import a good surface.
  4. Does anyone have any experience with a CHMER wire EDM machine. We are looking at a CHMER CW-850F, It'a large machine that will hold a 47 x 31 workpiece but I don't anything about this company except that it's from Tiawan. Any input will be helpfull.
  5. Thank you all for the info it's helped me discard a couple of manufacturers.
  6. I am in the process of buying a large wire machine and I have found 4 that are available and big enough. I have to get this list down to one so input (positive or negitive) will be welcome. AGIE JAPAC MITSUBISHI SODICK As always thanks for your replies
  7. We now have 2 seats of MC and 3 CNC machines and I have 2 mechanical switchboxes to send programes. We are getting a 3rd seat and a 4th cnc mill and the switchboxes will not work if everybody is DNCing at the same time. Does anyone know of an economical way to solve this problem like an electronic swithc box. Thanks,
  8. This problem just started and I can't figure it out. When I post a program with mutiple toolpaths I'll end up with mutiple programs. Each program will have one or more toolpaths in it. The editor will only have the first couple of toolpaths in it, I'll close the editor then it will open up again with the next toolpaths. It will continue to do this until all the toolpaths have been posted. I think this must be some kind of nci problem, It's not a post problem because I get the same results with diferent posts. I also get the same results if I use a different computer with the same file. I hope somebody knows what is causing this problem because I'm getting tired of cutting and pasting these programs together. One more thing, this problem does not happen all of the time but almost always with large complicated jobs with many tools. Thanks Jon Welch
