  1. It seems this problem has finally been resolved. I just wanted to post the solution in case anyone else has similar problems in the future. There were a couple of issues at play. The first of which was that the service account for NC Base didn't have read/write permissions for the folder where we store the programs. The second issue was that the machines I had set up in NC Base were using file paths based off of mapped drives instead of UNC paths. Once we switched the machines over to UNC paths then everything seemed to work without any problems.
  2. Thanks for your detailed response Watcher. It looks like that is all set correctly on my end. This morning I did some more testing and found that if I uncheck only "place files on import queue" that the program is sent where it is supposed to go and it will show up in NC Base. If I enable "place files on import queue" and send an unchanged program back to the network I do not have any errors in the port log in DNC Max. I can also view a version report of the file I sent. The report shows the most recent time the file was sent and says "Auto-import of unchanged program file ignored." If I try to send back a modified version of the file then I get the error "Could not copy program to import queue directory! [The system cannot find the specified path]" in the port log in DNC Max. I'm going to try getting in contact with Cimco directly.
  3. No I have not. I have been in contact with tech support from our reseller. Maybe I will try contacting Cimco directly. Thanks for the response.
  4. Hello, My company has CIMCO DNC Max and we recently decided to start using NC Base as well. I have had success sending/receiving programs at one of our mills with a Fanuc control. The problem is when I send a program from the machine to the network the program will not show up in the import queue in NC Base. I can view and open the program from NC Base it just does not show up in the queue. Has anyone run across an issue like this? Ryan
  5. Thanks for the example file. I currently am running X7 but will be upgrading to X8 next week, so I will look at it then.
  6. Thanks to everyone for your replies. I know there are easier ways to machine the radius. I was asked to try this way to see if it would be a faster way to rough it than stepping down along the radius. I was not able to get the Wireframe 2D swept to work. I am running into issues when trying to chain the radius. I select my first chain, hit enter and then Mastercam asks me for the intersection point. After I click on an intersecting point then it pops up an error stating that I can only have 3 chains. As I said I am new with Mastercam, so I'm sure I'm missing something pretty simple. Can someone please walk me through this toolpath?
  7. Hi, First of all I wanted to say that this forum has been very helpful for me as I am new to Mastercam and learning much. After searching the forum and not finding a topic that addresses my question I am ready for my first post. What I am trying to do is illustrated in the attached picture. I would like to know if there is a simple way to side mill around an external radius. The blue lines in the picture show approximately where I would like to position the end mill to rough the radius. The picture is a top view of a sample part on a HMC with B axis rotation. The way I have this figured out so far is to create a plane at the various different positions I want the end mill to be at and then just use a contour path to rough the radius. Is there a simpler way to accomplish this? Maybe a multi axis, or surface tool path I could try? Thanks!
