  1. I invite all the post writing Gurus to attend and give pointers to all that are interested. The first thing I would like to share is how to pull the total length of a tool from the .OPS binary file and use it as your Gage Length. #---- READ TOOL LENGTH FROM BINARY .OPS ---- gage1 : 0 gage2 : 0 gage3 : 0 # Total Tool Length gage4 : 0 gage5 : 0 pparameter if prmcode = 20007, gage1 = rpar(sparameter,3) Use Gage3 as your Gage Length
  2. Squating Dragon. That is Funny! Here since you all have been so kind and all here is the math that MasterCam likes to hide in there posts. This is for a C-frame Machine with A Primary and B secondary. prot2 # 5-axis Swarf Motion i = vtoolx j = vtooly k = vtoolz xangle = atan(-j/k) yangle = (atan(i))/sqrt((j)^2+(k)^2)) xout= xnci+i*(pivitpoint+gage3) yout= ynci+j*(pivitpoint+gage3) zout= znci-(1-k)*(pivitpoint+gage3) Thanks Cammando for the advise. Yes, I will have to write a macro for the post to get the output like I want it. I have been a MasterCam user for about five years and we switched to CATIA V5 at work about 2 years ago. Yes James, it makes me special. Any Ways, this hole thing has been a test to see what people on this board realy knew. It is best to ask profesionals for post advice. Yes, I can write 5 axis posts and yes james, that makes me special.
  3. See james, what a little Misunderstanding can do. It Brings out the best in everybody. Now, since we have every bodies attention, you all are going to love this, I am a CATIA V5 user and think it is the best I have seen so far. We were just trying to get the new kid linned out with a post. By the way, speaking with your local MasterCam dealer about a post is like asking your four year old how to change a tire. These guys are sales man nothing more. We have decided to buy IMSpost. It will build all the 5-Axis posts we need for MasterCam for the price of just one MasterCam Post Thanks Everyone, it has been too fun
  4. JAMES, I BET YOU REALLY LOOK LIKE THAT PICTURE DONT YOU. THATS FUNNY! LETS ALL GET INTO A PISSING MATCH. LETS SEE HOW MUCH CLASS YOU REALLY HAVE. IS YOUR HOME A SINGLE OR DOUBLE WIDE TRAILER?
  5. I KEPT MY EMAIL PRIVITE JUST FOR OCASIONS LIKE THIS. THIS DOES NOT MAKE ONE EVIL OR A PIRATE. HOW CAN ONE MAKE JUDGEMENTS LIKE THAT. I GUESS IT IS ALL MACHINE SHOP MENTALITY. IT CERTIANLY DOESNT STAP AT WORK. FORGET IT, I DONT NEED HELP THIS BAD. BESIDES, I DONT THINK ANY BODY REALLY KNOWS THE AWNSER TO MY QUESTIONS ANY HOW.
  6. I see that this forum is full of all kinds. I needed post help, not a bunch of nonsense. Home Work, lets see can you tell me the formulas it takes to make a compound angle, like in five axis motion?
  7. I WAS WONDERING IF ANY BODY HAD ANY IDEA HOW TO SETUP THE MPGEN5X POST FOR A HEAD/HEAD MACHINE THAT HAS "A" AS THE PRIMARY AXIS AND THE "B" AS THE SECONDARY AXIS. I HAVE BEEN PLAYING AROUND WITH IT AND CANT GET IT TO POST OUT THE RIGHT ANGLES. ALSO I HAVE CREATED MY OWN POST FOR THIS CONFIGUREATION THAT WORKS FOR SWARF CUTS AND THE INVERSE TIME IS RIGHT. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE IS 5-AXIS DRILLING. IT WILL NOT VECTOR IN FOR THE DRILL DEPTH AND THEN VECTOR RETRACT. I HAVE SET THE 5-AXIS DRILLING TO NOT OUT PUT CANNED CYCLES BUT WILL NOT MAKE THE MOTION. ANY HELP WOULD BE APRECIETED
