Whow Pooh bear!
wow, thanks, so if I understand correctly. Having filter ratio on (I usually use 2:1) will usually give me better finishes.
I have a 1998 tree CNC mill (VMC 500)
Am I on the right track?
-
Let me clarify that question.
In the "total tolerance" area.
Having the filter ratio turned on or off produces the better electrode finish?

Greetings forum
I'll try not to yell, as a post question or get in trouble. Believe me all forums have troubles.
Anyways,
What is everyones opinion about surface finish on an electode made with mastercam in a cnc mill?
What produces a better trode finish? Having the (tool) "total Tolerance" turned on or turned off? The size of the program doesn't matter in this application. Thanks in advance.

Sounds fun.
I have been deer hunting in Mn. Now back at it.
We are only in the quote stages right now. I did get a time study done on our screws from Hanwa and will present this to the owner.
-
How is the new screw machine going?
Wish you had mastercam to program it with?
-
Just because its for sale doesn't mean its illegal. Right?
or am I wrong in thinking this way?
-
KJS,
sounds nice.
I just had our rep. out of Denver bid me the cost of a new small machine. Good luck.

I just installed Chris's wallet friendly pick.
(128Mb nVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200)
I fixed a few graphic problems I was having.
I just wanted to tell everyone this worked out well for me. Thanks for everyone's help.

I just looked at there web site. Interesting, how did you decide on this brand? I sent for some info. but the nearest dealer is in Wisc.
Is the machine expensive? I'll definetly check back hear to hear how your crashes are going.

Very interesting post KJS.

Thank you very much!
A picture holds many words.

It sounds like I might have PCI slots.
How can I tell?
I need a work horse for Mastercam/Solid works at home.
-
Its not a new PCI I'm sure of that.
I'm not confusing a ribbon with a slot.
I was only trying to explain to you what the next open slot looks like.
Let me try and explain it like this.
My mother board has about 15 connections a space about 15 more connections anonther space and 15 more connections. everything is equall.
the new board has about 20-25 connections a space and about 10 more connections.
maybe it does go in there, but I didn't want to push to hard.
the board is a APG 4x
Thanks for everyones input
-
It didn't seem to fit correctly.
It has 3 sets of "ribbon style" plug in's on
one strip.
The board has two ribbon style plug in's on
one strip (one real long and one short).
Hard to explain.

Help computer guys.
I purchased the recommended board and it doesn't fit my home computer. Or the CPU at work.
(Intel 4)
I purchased the easy on your wallet pick.
128MB nVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200.
It dosn't fit my intel Celeron. Is the a board I can buy. If not i would like to build another home CPU. Do I need a AMD motherboard?

LastCat,
I purchased and installed the Mastercam "Wallet-friendly pick" and it has worked wonderfully. I got rid of a few problems with it.
Its a 128MB nVIDIA GeForce Ti 4200 (8x APG)
I had to search for it on the internet and I found it for about $100.00
hope it helps, Paul
