I have just migrated to x8 from x7, we have only used 1 machine definition inthe past on x7, I have used migration wizard and have all correct new posts etc in correct folders ( i.e. updated post, machine and control definitions supplied to us by mcx supplier).
When i open a new file in x7 - the new file loads with machine def correct - i.e the default one - and the default one is correct
The problem i am having in x8 - is if i load a 'new' file - no machine appears - if i load the default one from machine type - it rejects this,
i then go into manage list and select machine def i require - and i am then ok - how do i make this stick as the default machine - so it loads every time i start a new job - i have played with various settings in different areas - but cant make it so it loads the correct machine def as the default - any advice welcome

ON 5 AXIS MILL - COMPONENT HAS A LOAD OF HOLES WHICH ARE OF DIFFERENT ANGLES TO TOP SURFACE, THEY VARY BETWEEN 0.02 DEGREES TO 0.8 DEGREES - MY PROBLEM IS NOT BEING ABLE TO POST ANY PLANE CHANGES LESS THAN 0.1 DEGREE (I.E. WHEN ANGLE OF HOLE IS LESS THAN 0.1 - IT JUST POSTS A0 C0 - THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR THIS JOB.
I ASSUME IT IS A TOLERANCE SETTING WHICH CONTROLS THE POST - BUT I CANT FIND IT, ITS A CIMCO POST - I WILL CONTACT SUPPLIER TOMORROW - BUT ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO CHANGE SETTING TO POST SMALLER PLANE CHANGES ??

I have milled cam edge using 5axis swarf (worked well)- trying to deburr inner edge (see picture- black lines)
using 3D chamfer with a ballnose - the second picture shows the deburr is not even - the problem is less pronounced if i use a smaller ballnose - but still there.
Is there a way i can get an even chamfer/ deburr on this edge using 3D chamfer toolpath ??
Alternatively- is there a way i can use a 5axis cycle to deburr the edge ( I know i could use swarf to mill edge if there is a chamfer on model
(i.e. deburr edge - but struggled trying to get a chamfer on model edge)
Any suggestions ??
( I have enclosed screenshots as files - is there a way i can put pic in this area - or is this for text only)
