  1. That's what I thought... Thanks.
  2. I have created a file with a small engraving job. I'd like to Save the file as four different names and then go back and edit the LETTERS used (so I would have four diffeernt part numbers engraved). Is this possible? I have not yet found a way to edit letters have they have been placed. Thanks, Chris X8 Mill 2D
  3. So I have installed Mastercamdotcomlinking in the mcamx7 folder. I double click it, and it gives me an error "Failed To Generate Linking Code". I have disabled the virus protection. The SIM cad is installed and updated. The computer is connected to the internet. What have I done wrong???
  4. Thanks guys, I'll give those a try...
  5. (XZ). I have a simple rectangular mill part I'm using as a "learning" part. Most of the work is on the XY plane, but I have additional operations on each side (XZ). Can this be accomplished in one file? I'm not having any success, so I'm thinking I'll need three; possibly four. After moving the stock and rotating the part, if I regenerate, I get errors in the 2D milling operations. Is a new file required each time the stock is moved? Using X7.
  6. X7 is our most current release. We're supposed to be on subscription (or what ever it is that Mastercam calls their maintenance program), so I believe we'll have new version shortly.
  7. I'm told we have "2D Lathe Basic" and "2D Milling Basic". They're sending the disks and SIM to me now. Should be installed by the end of the week.
  8. We have a house full of machinists and one seat of Mastercam. We've had Mastercam for several years, but only used it sparingly. I am relatively new to the company, and have been using AutoCAD/Inventor since the early 90's. But I have zero experience as a machinist. I am pushing for us to get more out of our Mastercam investment. As an advanced CAD user (exclusively Inventor now), would I be able to pick up Mastercam (in a timely manner), even with my lack of machining background? Or is this "Mission Impossible"? Thanks, Chris
