  1. perpendicular lead in leaves an undercut. I'm interpolating bores with +- .0025 tolerance . Is why i asked the question. and no I don't have the option of boring it.
  2. Ok i know this one may be out there but with the new machines I figured I would ask. Is the a way to engage cutter comp and disengage on an arc with the Okuma MB 4000 H. I have heard that there are machines that have a setting that will allow this. Most of my issues are coming out of a op disengaging CC on a arc coming off of an arc or sometimes going into using tangent lead in, out to reduce the bite mark . BTW the machine is a 2014.And yes I am aware of the rule of thumb of CC can only be engaged on a linieal ( or how ever the heck you spell it lol) move.
  3. Mastercam will automatically calculate the cut depth for the number of steps down you ask it to cut . If you want it closer to what you want as far as depth of cut you need to calculate the stock to be removed to the number of steps needed.
  4. Does anyone else run in to the wcs changing randomly when doing a path change ? Even tho C/T are set correctly? I also run into the plane manager not letting me change the offset? I can change it exit plane manager go right back into it and it reverted back to what i just changed. I'm using MCX8 and yes I have done all of the updates. Any insight would be helpfull.
  5. I had the same problem and had to reinstall making sure that the mcam8 and shared mcam8 with the config files were on my local drive and not on the network. along with changing some of the default settings to my C: drive and not network drives.
  6. Thank you Gizmo and specv. I found one that will probably work thru Harvey. Now I just have to make it do what i need it to do. LOL.
  7. Hoping someone can help me with this one. I need to program a deburr path on 2 diffrent part and am looking for a tool that I have used in the past but it's been years. It's a 90deg dual faced chamfer tool , carbide that comes to almost a point. .1875 major cut diameter. It was used for edge break inside and outside of part features. I just can't remember where I got it or who made it. ( senility kicking in here ). Does anyone recognize this cutter? It is diamond shaped with a reduced neck with upper and lower cutting surfaces. Also if i do find what i'm looking for i will probably be asking for advise on making it do what I need it to do. LOL Thanks Rob.
  8. I have had this same problem . You might try creating a point on another level masking the original and selecting the new point . This worked for me.
