  1. Hey jeff I'm gonna be honest and I nailed it first try. I wasn't surprised that it passed inspection but I was surprised that I had no problems at all, and was a two piece part for a bad xxxx LOX rocket engine with some moderately tight tolerances. I adjusted from the suggested info and had to use a chamfer mill and ball to mill a 0.03" fillet with no delamination on the entire part. I ran it dry with a respirator and used a shop vac. Thanks for the reply.
  2. I was wondering if anyone out there has experience programming post processing milling operations for 3d Printed parts. I have machined 3d printed material manually a few times on a bridgeport but I am curious if anyone has experience with this. I'm looking for someone I could talk to about speeds and feeds for common materials. Should I be looking for special endmills? Sometimes we need to modify 3d printed parts and I would like to program our HAAS machines to do so to increase our capabilities for rapid prototyping and speeds of modifications. We would also like to start 3d printing molds a little on the heavy side in certain areas and clean them up with with one of our units. If anyone out there has experience I'd be happy to ask a few questions. Thanks.
  3. My employer provided me with Multiaxis ProCourseware so I'll start there.
  4. Hi, I'm looking for some 5th axis training/ecourses/education. I've been programming professionally for a little over a year and really want to step up my game and get comfortable programming 5 axis mill operations. I have looked around online for e-courses and such and don't know where to go for quality training. We have a 5 axis HAAS VF-4 and our other programmer is leaving June of next year. I've done some 4th axis programming with our TM-2 but would really like to fill his shoes on programming the 5 axis machine when he leaves. I'm looking for training I can do at home after work. If anyone here has found some truly helpful e-courses or DVD's please point me in the right direction. I am hesitant to drop my cash on some of these online training programs. I am really comfortable programming but like I said I'm ready to step it up. I mostly program 3 axis mill parts and lathe parts and occasional 4th axis parts but only have used it for indexing.
  5. I'm about to mill some G10 for the first time on one of our HAAS machines. This thread and a few others were helpful and hopefully put me in the right direction.
  6. Couldn't figure out how to upload another image to my post so posted it here... http://imgur.com/OuyAzBj I'm trying to do 20 things at once right now so bare with me...If you need anymore screens let me know. We adjusted some settings...murked it worst so I'm guessing somethings just way off Thanks for the help guys! Edited link.
  7. I can make a new part file real quick and send that over with the tool that I'm trying to use. I'm probably over looking something.
  8. Chose from library. It's just drawing the cutting end weird as hell. I did not make any changes to the tool. Everyone on my end is kinda stumped. I'm probably going to end up drawing a custom tool.
  9. Thanks for the welcoming, I have a feeling I will be around a lot and have been a secret lurker for a while. No I can't post my file because work stuff. Any ideas of what is going on? I've ran plenty of lathe and mill parts but never had an issue like this. Maybe my tool holder is wrong? Everything appears to be good. This is the only tool that has been like this, IDK what's up.
  10. I've been trying to figure out why my groove tool is doing this. See attached image. Do I have to redraw the tool? I'm new to mastercam. It has weird lines extruding from it and the radius of the tool should be the only feature able to hit the stock.
