  2. when opening a file it defaults to mc files, i was wondering if its possible to make all files a default instead
  3. hey, would you happen to know how i can change the wireframe color permanently?
  4. how would i change the color of my horizontal and vertical dimensions in x9, i use a black screen and the dark blue color of my dimensions is kind of annoying, i cant seem to find anything in settings>configuration>colors. thanks for any help
  5. Thank you for the pdf, that might help with other issues also. ill just have to do some more reading on x-form project, thank you
  6. Hi so the company I work for has used MC v 8.0 for 15 years. Now we have x9. We have always used a chook function known as squashing. When I press alt+c in x9 I don't see this function at all. I have found what I believe to be alternatives by xform> project then edit> delete> delete duplicates, but I feel these are not the best alternatives. I'm wondering if squashing has just been renamed or just doesn't exist and I'm stuck with the alternatives. I've asked my reseller and cnc software reps, but no one can give me a full answer. If anyone has any suggestions please tell me, thank you very much.
  7. good afternoon, Our spindle speed was programmed when creating our tool libraries, after chaining, verifying, and posting. then transferring to the machine the router will not leave home and does not spin, when looking into the coding, it shows that there is no spindle speed programmed. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on why this is happening many thanks, brandon
  8. I appreciate everyone's help, thank you very much, I'm sure ill have more dumb questions in the future
  9. yes im serious about v8 . We have 2 thermwood c40 91000 supercontrol 3axis 4-tool holders, we are using 9 tools, that have to be programmed from 1 to 4 in order for the machine to know where to go, or at least that's how it was on v8. Would anyone happen to know about the ALT+C squash to flatten objects or where to input my z-shift in x8? stock setup maybe?
  10. Good morning, I was wondering if its possible to transfer my tool libraries from v8.0 to x8 . Big jump!.. I know, but is it possible to use "run user application" or "migration wizard" to install my tool libraries onto x8. If not I understand, but I thought it would be worth a try. Also we use to use the Alt+C "squash" function in v8.0, which is quite the necessity for us; how would I find this function in x8. I've searched a little but I'm just not seeing it and we use to have to input the z-shift (material size) at the end of each post to inform our machines to not drill through our table. Any help is appreciated. Many Thanks, Brandon P.S. v8.0 and x8 are on two separate computers in the same office.
  11. my boss purchased x8 pretty much right before x9 came out because he was told it would cost another $2,000. our reseller only told us to additionally purchase <removed>. it doesn't really help at all for what we are using MC for, although I was told recently we will be getting a book in the mail to go along with our <removed>- online courses, but im not sure how much help that will be until I receive it next week. anyways I really wish our/every reseller would offer physical classes that I could attend, that would be the best help. but im also finding out that our reseller can come to us, which I think will have to be done in the long run.
  12. awesome, thank you I will be talking to my boss as soon as he gets in, and get that info., I also feel one of my real problems is dealing with the 88 .pst files I have on v8.0's post folder, im guessing this is due to the crash I mentioned before.
