Thanks for your reply doug. I actually did something similar to what you suggest but an awkward thing happened, i tell what i did. My friend has some ".pgm" examples which actually work fine, i oppened those programs and saved them to .xxl, oppened with Xilog, then saved to .pgm once again and the program did not work on my friend's machine :/. Hi there Everyone, I'm from Portugal and I've been working and learning Mastercam for a few months in the company where i work, we have a CNC router with Fanuc Controller and everything works has it should. A couple of months ago a friend of mine asked me to help him programming a wood CNC, a Morbidelli Author xxxxx (I don´t know the model exactly) and i just can't get the thing running. The machine has a USB port to import the files that are created externally. I need some help to get the thing right, can you please tell me how do i import the g code from Mastercam to the machine? Right away. We have an 3Axis CNC so i must cut the piece from the top with a slot mill... In the file are 2 different toolpaths, one using surface contour and the other surface flowline. DISCO FERRAMENTA_22MM_TESTE2.MCX-5 Many thanks.

I've already tried the surface contour and the path generated was good but it was milling also inside the piece. I applied a containment boundary but did't work has i thought, i selected "outside" when choosing the chain for containment but somehow the path was generated only inside... Is there any solution to mill outside a boundary?

I there and thank you all for the replies. I've been trying to solve this problem for the past few days and it came up a weird thing: i want to mill this piece with a slot mill and the results shown above are generated with this tool but if i choose a Bull Endmill or a Flat Endmill, for example, the path created is just perfect and totally what i want. Let me show you: Any guess for what's happening here? Or how can i have the same path with a slot endmill? Thanks in advance.

There are many functions that i don't use because i don't know how to... I do not have any add on tools, sadly :/. Can you explain me how you use the Surface Finish Blend? Thanks for the fast reply duckdogers but i've already tried that and no luck... It assumes exactly the same thing and the cutting direction isn't the one i want. The program is assuming a flowline that i don't understand, maybe the geometry isn't defined as it should

I there, i'm new in this forum and i need a little help here please. I'm also a newby on Mastercam and i'm having a problem that i can't solve. I want to a circular tool with the flowline surface finish but when i create the toolpath it seems like the flowine isn't following the surface.
